2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

actually, fed totally poaching.
If you think those things happen without fed support in a country where the team is financed by the fed(and we all know who fed supports between Buianova and Eteri), you are pretty innocent.

Why would the Fed take away skaters from Eteri, she clearly has a winning method for teenage champions.

Those who have left don’t really fit that ideal and it makes more sense that they want a different approach rather than Fed interference.

Plus why move Daria, she’s the only other senoir Eteri has. CSKA already has Sotskova, Polina T and Radio. Who are all more proven on senoir circut and now Med is with Orser so it’s not like she was ever getting 3 spots.

Well, if Dasha leaves Eteri for Buyanova, it's without a doubt a CSKA job to kill off Eteri's career. And most likely Dasha is done at this point. No one will do anything for her. Not in CSKA. I guess, 4 years later Russian ladies will be at the same state as russian men, dance and pairs - nonexistent. What can I say. They did the same thing with tennis - kill off the sport entirely for merely 2-3 years.
I can't say I like Eteri's methods. And she's most likely a hard to deal with after what Zhenya has done. But when only adult girls leaving for only one coach, who openly hates Eteri and jealous of her, it's clear as day, that it's not only about Eteri's personality.

I am not even sure what your point here. CSKA does not go to Sambo to lure the young skaters to their place. The girls chose to leave on their own. There must be something for so many to leave. And it does not have to be only about Eteri's personality. It can be anything else. If you think CSKA is just some weak club who could not develop talent, feel free to think so. Remember most talented girls did not trained with Eteri in the first place, they also moved from other clubs to Eteri. Even if they move out, their talents are still there.

Point is, that the russian figure skating community pays to much attention to politiking and not so much to the sport itself. And it's never, never ended well.
The point is the girls left or might have left have their own reasons and it does not have to be related to politics. It might not be because of Eteri. Maybe they think there are too many talented girls in one group and it is not a safe place to climb up. Or maybe something else.

4 years ago we also tried to believe that IK split has nothing to do with TAT and only with love and better opportunities. And that Russia has a bright future in dance ahead of her. I guess, I'm not that optimistic anymore.

So? Just because IK related to Tat so the Eteri's girls have to do with CSKA? Do you really know what really happened to these girls? So Medvedeva, Tsurskaya, Tarakanova, Panenkova etc... along with many other previous students were sweetly pulled away by CSKA?

I know for sure they have their own reasons, and no amount of politics could convince all of these skaters to move if they do not want to.

I think we should wait until we get an official statement by Dasha. She probably had legimate reasons for not wanting to train with Eteri anymore. But so far we can only speculate.

Oh, and I really don‘t believe there is this evil plan of Buyanova and the fed to lure skaters away from Eteri. It‘s more likely they want to leave her for whatever reasons and Buyanova smiles at them and says: „Well, you can always come to join me, just so you know.“ Like, Eteri‘s her biggest rival coaching wise, of course she‘d take her students if they wanted in her group. But that the fed is actively trying to get all the students away from Eteri when she‘s already produced three Olympic Medalist would be insanely stupid. They might initially support Buyanova more but nobody‘s going to try to ruin a coach who‘s trained so many students to success.

I believe that our fed is stupid enough for anything.
The fact that people believe
- Russian fed pushed for higher age limit to stop Eteri's students
- Russian fed backed up CSKA to lure Eteri's students away

Is pretty much hilarious and wrong. But whatever to keep you sleep at night.

Would make a great James Bond movie though. Or maybe that's what From Russia with Love was already about.

The answer might lie in the middle there somewhere. But it's not anything that will ever be discovered IMO. So... I'd rather not ascribe agendas.

My guess is that probably all of those who changed coaches now had already been thinking about it earlier, at least unconciously. When Medvedeva changed, she started some kind of chain reaction because after that, the other ones probably felt the legitimization to change also. They felt approved with their feelings. Feel free to disagree. It's just what I think could have happened.

If the rumors are true, that leaves Eteri with only 2 seniors for this upcoming season. Lilbet & Alina. If things don't go well for Alina this season, t's gonna be weird not seeing Eteri girls sweep almost all medals in competition for once  well she has her super juniors but i imagine she'd want to dominate both junior & senior circuit.

I won‘t disagree. I think Medvedeva set an example and now that she‘s done it, others dare to follow. She was probably Eteri‘s most famous student at the moment (barring Yulia), having been with her the longest. If she could leave, what would stop others to do the same? But that‘s why I‘m wondering what happened there that SO MANY are making the choice to leave. It can‘t be the typical „I want new possibilies“ stuff or at least that‘s what I think.

This is so weird, honestly. I was looking forward to Dasha finally getting a place in the spotlight with Eteri. She‘d have been priority after Alina because she‘s the only other senior lady left. With Buyanova I fear she‘ll be overlooked again. :( However, I don‘t think Alina will have much problems so at least she‘s getting senior medals with her. To have only one Eteri girl in senior is still a strange thought, though. I reckon she won‘t be too worried because she still has her junior army who turns senior soon but if anyone of them would leave, too... Strange. Very strange. At least in juniors everything will be normal. Eteri sweep!!

Don't jinx it! :)

No relationship is gold ever. People working for top companies still leave for different companies and different positions. Reason? People have opinions and feelings of their own.

Judging by today's broadcasting in a periscope Dasha has left from Eteri, but so far has refused to answer more detailed questions.

Of course. Dasha is very much entitled to make her own choices. However, I don‘t think you just change your coach if you A) have the best chances to success with him/her and B) are happy on a personal level. So something must have happened and we‘re not very likely to find out unless she tells us. And if it was just her leaving, nobody would bat an eyelid or at least people wouldn‘t be so curious. But as she‘s already the fourth student this off-season, we naturally start to wonder whether something‘s up in Team Tutberidze. But we’re not going to know anyway, so wishing her all the best and that she can settle with her new team and achieve what she wants to! :)

I agree, I think that Zhenya leaving had some part in this, although some skaters would have left anyway (I think Polina was always going to leave tbh)
