2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Because they want to have an all Russian final. They won't do this by putting Trusova and Kostornaia against each other as this is counterproductive, but if they'll smart they'll put one of them against her as well as someone else who is very good but not necessarily at the top of the list. I could see Trusova and Tarusina vs. You at one and Kostornaia and Gubanova(if she competes) at the other, or maybe Shcherbakova for the second spot if they decide to have her go against Trusova/Kostornaia. They want You to finish second at the highest, best case scenario 3rd or lower.

The point is that they will never put them both against her at the same assignment.
Also, i really don't think its such a big deal. In worst case, she will be like the #6 entry at the final, like Kihira was this year lol. Its not like they care that much, really, their main focus will be giving each of their girls the best chances to get into the final by doing crazy substitutions.

This. From experience, those are pluses only the fans want to see or care about. Feds don't really elaborate strategies around that stuff.

Fresh news from jMedvedevaj - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH9CF_5NbIE
"... Brian opened up a whole new world for me... how to sit on your foot, where to direct the skate... before I could not even imagine that this is possible!"
Let's hope after proper consolidation of these basic FS skills it will be able to start the development of 2Lz, 3Lo and 2A. On the other hand who knows how her leg&back injuries will respond to the attempts of 3 Rev jumps.

Different coaching team have different advantages and little secrets, i'm sure Brian's team has little things Eteri's doesn't and vice versa so it's not surprising Evgenia found new or different skating techniques at TCC. I don't see how that could be trolling. "how to sit on your foot" maybe she's talking about learning some sit spins techniques. (Yuzuru is known for having beautiful sit spins for example so maybe she's learning that) :scratch2: I've seen people all over twitter talking about how she's being over dramatic about this change of hers but she's excited, she was with the same coach at the same place since she was 6, she's discovering new things. Of course it's exciting for her :confused2:

Went through this with gymnastics coaches as well. It can be so exciting to figure new things out or understand positions, etc. Sometimes a few words can change everything.

For the junior assignments, I think they will give the first 3 JGP to the first 3 positions from junior test skates, in that order. The second spots from the first two JGP will go to 4th and 5th position from test skates. The other ones will be decided ad hoc.

This year Lady' FS RusNats can be of 24 participants. 3 with Quads, 4 with 3A, 10 with 3Lz+3Lo, 14 with 3Lz+3T. 3F+3T jumps are outdated.

And only one of them will jump without half turn prerotation and full blade toe jumps. That would be our liza.

who are the 4 jumping 3As? Tukta, Kosto and who else? sasha, anna are jumping quads, who's the 3rd one?

I don’t know how to copy Instagram stories and repost them but I really wish someone would grab Serafima’s stories from today. Her 3s-3t(rippon) is full send and she does a nice 3f-3lo too. If only there was a way she could earn a GP spot for next season. Heck...I wouldn’t even be upset if she beat out Gubanova for the spot at Rostelecom.

Someone needs to give Sima the award for most perseverance

It looks like the initial submission of entries the JGP Bratislava has gone up. The Russian Fed last decided to enter 11 girls (Shcherbakova and Tarusina as initial picks and then the other nine as substitues). I assume these 11 girls will probably make up this seasons JGP team with exact assignments depending on test skates.

Interestingly it looks like the Fed intends to keep both Gulyakova and Gubanova in Juniors as they are both on the substitute list (I wonder who will get the Rostlecom host pick?)

Full List;
Anna SHCHERBAKOVA
Anna TARUSINA
Anastasiia GUBANOVA (S)
Anastasiia GULIAKOVA (S)
Alena KANYSHEVA (S)
Alena KOSTORNAIA (S)
Anastasia KOSTYUK (S)
Kseniia SINITSYNA (S)
Anastasia TARAKANOVA (S)
Alexandra TRUSOVA (S)
Viktoria VASILIEVA RUS (S)

Samodurova, Sakhanovich and Mikhailova I think are the main contenders.

Sad. Poor Kaetlyn Osmond if she returns will be outdated with 3F3T. And Evgenia will have to step it up; can someone confirm is Pogo out this year:(
