2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Alina's jumps look okay to me!

I don't feel like I can judge the program from this, I need to see it in competition and with good lighting\cameras to really get a feel of it - from what I can see I'm not sold 100%. I wouldn't say it's bad, but I wouldn't call it good either. From the first look I very much prefer her Swan SP, it felt like it was more original. Like I said though, I'll wait to see it in competition before I give my final opinion.

I truly hope she changes the costume though because it looks cheap, I'd like to see her wearing darker\warmer colors :) I'm pretty sure it's a temporary one though?

I'm not sure about this POTO program. I think the combo is rotated fine but to me, the jumps themselves look smaller than usual - like the combo Worlds in her SP. But more importantly, I don't like that it looks like a very Evgenia-styled program. They found individual styles for Alena, Alexandra, Anastasia T when she was there, and even last season Alina's choreo looked differently styled enough from Evgenia's to be distinctly hers. But the dramatic expressions and floaty choreo don't suit Alina, imo.
That said, it's a very short clip, maybe the rest of the program looks different.

She had a dramatic expression also in her short, last season and it worked really well for her. I think the intense, unusual and dramatic programs suit her.

So when do those junior Russian selection events begin again? I just can’t wait any longer!!!!!!!!

I want to see this Sinitsyna girl who has the influential coach and can get 75+. I wanna see if Tarusina can be a top player. I wanna see if Trusova holds onto her #1 Junior status. I want to see NOW!!!!

I know we won’t get any video, but at least we’ll hear the results.

Panova? She doesn't seem to have much influence compared to Buyanova. Which makes that 75 all the more surprising

I just made an observation. You're free to draw your own conclusions.

At least have the courage to speak up instead of being half-shady. Lavenderblossom was bold enough to share her opinion :rofl2:

With how popular the russian juniors are, you're telling me that we won't see videos of their test skates? :sad21: if i lived in Russia or anywhere near, i'd run early in the morning to watch :scard7:

I'm sorry but what would you (not only you, it's generalization for all those of little faith :) ) expect? That Alina will remain stuck in ballet programs for the rest of her career? Like there weren't enough complaints that she can'd do anything else, when she had ballet both in short and free. And when she delivers something else, now they blame her for not doing what she did last time. I guess, there's no pleasing some people

I doubt they are opened to the public. In other years, we had news about how the skaters did and maybe some pictures, but that's all.

No, in fact if you go back in this thread or the one about program music you'll see I was one of the few people that were very excited about POTO, because as overused as it is I love the music. I am glad she's not doing ballet again and I was not complaining about ballet in my post. I said that the choreo doesn't fully convince me because it looks a bit generic while last year's SP had struck me for its originality, but that I was waiting to see the program in competition to judge.

When did I ever blame her for not doing ballet? :scratch2:

that's a shame. we'll starve for another month then :gaah:

I hope Zhenya will reveal her programs at TCC's media days :luv17: they're usually in early august.

Haha...I believe the junior test skates are usually closed to the public :roll5:

I don't even consider that her short program from last season was ballet. It looked more like a contemporary dance.
