Thank you everyone for all the news, links and posts. :agree:

Such a gorgeous picture. His arms and hands are beautiful. It pains me that the sleeves are so long I can't see all of both hands. I wish he wore short sleeves. If he must go with long sleeves, at least with shorter sleeves so I can see his entire hands to the wrists.

Also,

Does anyone know if this button phenomenon happened in both the afternoon and evening performance? Is he going for the deep-V look, paying tribute to Shoma, or did the shirt's fit require this?

I wish he had been given Boyang's costume, actually. I want to see his arms and hands, not his chest. ;) And all the white shirts look bunchy--even Shoma's.

That was sooooo yesterday! Today the buzz is about being paired with Mai during the group number. Not to mention his "wedding ceremony" pose with Shoma.

Do you know if that mis-aiming and collision/side-hug with Shoma happened in both afternoon and evening? :)

I wonder if the TV people will choose to air that mistake instead of a 'cleaner' final pose from another performance. They have 3 different Osaka performances to choose from.

I like this show costume on him very much and I think it fits his SP music and would make him look much better than his current SP costume.

When I first saw that he'd brought Prince Igor outfit, I hoped he would wear that for Caravan until his 'real costume' (there is one coming, isn't there?) is ready. I hoped he'd wear Prince Igor for all performances of Caravan at The Ice.

I don't know how appropriate it is, but it would be more aesthetic than his Sun Valley Caravan costume.

I don't think you'll ever see Nathan sign up for this get-up, which someone on twitter jokingly said he got from raiding Adam's closet, LOL. He looks great in it, but that's because it doesn't look so bunchy and it bares his gorgeous arms.

btw, where did everyone hear about 'the incident at DOI'? I didn't catch any wind of it until Tim Koleto's tweet today.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the sQuad collaboration called for a triple axel, but I'm glad to hear he landed his nemesis jump three times today.

I heard that during the evening show Nathan patted Shoma on the head.

:laugh2:  Ok, these guys looked like they were having WAY too much fun! How I would have loved to have been there. Thx :thank: for all the stuff you posted of the amazing trio! Can't wait to see lengthier versions of everything they did! And it didn't look fake -- it really looked like they were having fun.

Where did Nathan say is he nervous to live by himself at Yale?

Wonder what residential college he got assigned to

Which one is 3 minutes from the rink?

Ingalls Rink, aka the Whale, which is right on campus and 99% reserved for the college's teams and not available to him. I don't know if the reporter misheard--I think that's likely, because if Nathan thought he'd have access to the Whale he wouldn't have investigated a rink more than 30minutes away from Yale. He's frugal but not that unreasonable as to turn down training on campus just because the rink in Cromwell supposedly will let elites train for free. It costs $ to have a car on campus, for parking, for upkeep, and can he even be alert and awake enough to drive half the time, with training and full-time course load?

It'll most likely be Cromwell as I've stated times before in this thread; and it's possible to drive that kind of distance to training and do the full-course load, first hand experience here.

There is a skating club that also shares the rink, and it has skating school and public sessions. While he obviously needs to find other options I think he can still use whale for practice.

Not a lot but at least I see 2 freestyle sessions a week that Nathan can use:

Freestyle sessions at Ingalls Rink:

Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 PM
Sunday from 8:15 - 9 PM

Yes, and its hours are not plentiful at the Whale.

Does he have to change his affiliation to even skate there during those limited hours? Is he really going to change his affiliation to Yale collegiate figure skating club? He's been affiliated with Salt Lake Figure Skating all along. I'm sure he feels loyal and very grateful to people there who helped his family out when they were short on funds at the start of his career.

I respect the research you've done and as with his costumes, I hope your optimism is well-founded. :)

No, you don't have to change your affiliation to skate at a different club.

Thank you for the information. May he be as wise in choosing his course load as you were when commuting a similar distance and carrying a full course load.

Were you competing at Nathan’s level? And how was the outcome of training full time and doing a full course load?
