Almost like they made the program then cut pieces of POTO to make it fit...
Seems like a smart way to go about things. :agree:

I’m sure that’s how they made the program but the way it’s ordered makes it feel choppy. It doesn’t seem to flow naturally from cut to cut and feels like some of the transitions are out of place. I hope they fix it before the major competitions.Seems like a smart way to go about things. :agree:
I think from the reactions i've seen so far, most people agree that the music cuts are really weird and messy!

That's what you always should do... You don't just make the entire music with all the cuts in their correct places and then hope you figure out choreo that works.Making a program that way is EVERYTHING that has gone wrong with skating.
You’re suppose to skate to a piece of music to create a story. Doing it how you’ve suggested takes all artistry from skating.
You may as well just have a technical competition where skaters do a series of elements, why bother with the music.

It's funny that we've now arrived at "The music fits the choreo too well, it no longer is artistic". Indeed, the transitions from piece to piece could be more fluid but ... I don't get this kind of criticism.

In your opinion maybe but I’ve worked with cutting music before with skaters. It’s common to cut up music and adapt a skaters program to fit the music. It’s been going on for a very long time. .
Who is making these rules and why should everyone not have the freedom to create in ways that inspire them instead of conforming to a single approach? This is a baffling thing to say IMO. What makes a good program will always be up for interpretationand thatvseems fair to me.
Have you been present when the program was created? :sarcasm:That’s not that same as what’s being done here.

To a certain extent I agree that you cut and adapt music as for example the Shibs did with their Coldplay piece.

While everyone is entitled their opinion, IMO its just awful/unartisct. I suppose I look at it as another way Eteri is gaming the system.
Let’s not create programs with actual flow/theme/continuity but rather chop music together to make sure each element has a musical highlight.
Again, you don’t have to agree with me, I know there are plenty others that do!
You are waaay too dramatic here and you don't know a thing about her camp and the way they create their programs. Alina is artistic, IMO, as everybody like to use this abbreviation nowadaysI guess next year we will have a rule to limit that kind of choreography.![]()
It seems whatever Eteri team does, it will trigger her haters no matter whatYou are waaay too dramatic here and you don't know a thing about her camp and the way they create their programs. Alina is artistic, IMO, as everybody like to use this abbreviation nowadays

I’m not disagreeing with her being artistic. She has nice lines and her musicality has greatly improved since last season.
It’s more to do with the way the program is constructed rather then how she is performing it.
I feel she would be better simply skating to one or maybe two piece from POTO.
This makes my soul die, no one who dances makes choreography then finds music to match it.
They find music that inspires them then create movement to match the musical queues.
Yes, in skating you have a layout of the program but you use the music to help guide where the appropriate place in the music should be for each element.
I myself was a junior competitive skater and never was a program for myself or anyone I knew ever made the way you’re suggesting.

Good to know that I choreograph wrong.
Yeah, sometimes I choreograph to music, but sometimes I don't and wander around waiting for the right music to come to me![]()
How dare you!... like everybody else.I feel she would be better simply skating to one or maybe two piece from POTO.
... like everybody else.
God forbid her to do something not-standard. :noshake:
how dare she? Who does she think she is.... :dev2:
