Gubanova has great choices. Take 5 is a very classy choice and a longtime favorite of mine! Liebestraum is a safe choice that should bring out everything great we’ve come to know of her.

Idk about Tarakanova doing tango tho :think: we'll see

god i'd die to be a mouse in Russia right now to be able to watch the test skates!

edit: god seeing the number of cuts in R&J i'm scared it's gonna be a mess! please let it be good :bow:
 
Okay I get it... Gleikhengauz is doing the same thing for Alena's FS as Bradie Tennell. Isn't mixing five soundtracks from different composers amazing?

Daniil, I think, is or was in an identity crisis, judging on his last creation that we saw (POTO) and also from these choices for one composition:eeking:
 
Kostornaya’s SP: Only 2 pieces of music, from the same soundtrack and artist. Comments: Daniil took an axe to the music.

Kostornaya’s FP: 4 pieces of music...by different composers...

Now I’m terrified for how R&J is going to turn out.
 
Wow... How many programs have Daniil choreographed this season??? Maybe that’s why he’s going nuts! You can’t have this many programs looking all amazing, I think. 🤷*♀️

No, seriously, I‘m outright scared for Alena‘s programs. Last years were SO GOOD and now we have like five thousand different music pieces in one program. What is going on? :shocked:

At least Gubanova‘s music seems fine. I like both choices. Hope she does well this season.

(Just noticed that both of Sasha’s programs use similar music from the same artist. Maybe he’s going through a Tomoyasu Hotei phase.) :laugh:

Not so risky for juniors. They only get one shot at a combo in the short as the 2A and 3F have to be solo jumps. It’s. More a question of stamina for them.

I think it was technically clean, just didn’t have the pretty/flowy landing Alena’s jumps normally have. And yeah, there some debate about Daniil’s music taste/sanity so...

Her ISU profile has I think 4 different songs listed as part of the program, and considering how rough the cuts are in Alina's POTO and apparently in Alena's Max Richter short program, I think everyone is assuming the worst.

What he had done with Alina's PotO was not reassuring at its slightest

I bet he would throw in a few thunder sound effects here and there, but probably no glass/mirror-shattering :drama:

Yes, it’s worrying, but not as worrying as Alena’s. Sasha’s music is more chaotic and intense as compared to Alena’s, so even if the music cuts are a little messy, it won’t be as obvious. Whereas with Alena, R&J is clearly meant to be soft and graceful, so if a music cut is awkward, it will really jut out.

There’s also the fact that most people know how the R&J soundtrack flows, which notes come next, etc. Sasha’s music is less well-known than that.

So even if they have the same awkward music cuts, Alena’s program will probably suffer more than Sasha’s. That’s what I’m assuming for now, but of course we don’t know for sure.
