2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

I think her recent post about Mishin was very telling:

"He've helped to me battle through everything: tears, desperation, pain, fear, but he always gives me the motivation, inspiration and courage. Everytime when I'm step on ice, I'm smiling, because I know - he believes in me."

I think that even from this Mishin's interview on new scoring rules posted earlier this pre-season, it shows that his frankness and not pulling the wool over things are sense of a great support for Elizaveta too. I imagine that their relationship is built on honesty - when she's bad and it does not go well, he acknowledges it and they both try to make it work. And he truly has a great experience and wisdom on how the discipline works to share with her. I do hope that she can push herself more and show us a flashback from past post-Olympic season:)

I think Sinitsyna is getting a spot.

I’m pretty sure they are swapping assignments around. If you check the updated lists Gubanova has been pulled from Linz and replaced with .... Kanysheva.

Kanysheva is still listed for Kaunas too but I doubt they are sending her to two JGPs back to back so I’d imagine that spot has also been redistributed and the list just hasn’t been updated yet.

Whoa! Not to be mean, but yay! (maybe Gubanova will now have the host spot)
That would imply that Sinitsyna is going to Kaunas!!!

Either way the current situation is now:

JGP1: Anna Tarusina, Anna Shcherbakova
JGP2: Alena Kostornaya, Alena Kanysheva
JGP3: Alexandra Trusova, Alena Kanysheva
JGP4: Anna Shcherbakova, Anastasia Tarakanova

I would love something like this:
Bratislava: Tarusina, Shcherbakova
Linz: Kanysheva, Kostornaya
Kaunas: Sinitsyna, Trusova
Richmond: Tarakanova, Shcherbakova
Ostrava: Tarusina, Kostornaya
Ljubljana: Kanysheva, Trusova
Yerevan: Sinitsyna, Tarakanova

if they keep Kanysheva as doing back-to-back events, then Sinitsyna would have to do Ljubljana and Yerevan

Thanks! But, Who is kanysheva? Can u link a video of her please?
Oh! Is she the tall girl in that “mature” blue dress with the crisscross straps in the front?

Yes, that was her SP dress. She is coached by Panova and is born in early 2005, so this is her first JGP year.

is Gubanova still eligible for host spot CoR? she was assigned to JGP even though pulled in the end and still on sub list?

You can really see it in the kiss & cry - if she's having a really bad time, he'll be very comforting and supportive. If she's just made some kind of "silly" mistake, his expression says quite clearly: "And why would you go and do that for?" It's a pretty goood way to gage Liza's condition.

Guess she didn't have a good reason to skip the test skates after all?

Hoping for her sake that it's simply because she's in the end going to go senior this season(Perhaps got information on receiving the host spot). Otherwise it's such a bad look in my opinion.

Yeah...I think it’s looking very likely we’ll see her at senior test skates soon and RusFed will use her on JGP only if someone bombs really bad in one of the first events or gets injured. Its most likely she was advised on this and didn’t just decide to skip the test skates.

He keeps it real and Elizaveta has similar approach in my opinion, which I value greatly:). My favourite K'n'C moment was his pride expression after 2015 Worlds SP when she aced that 3A - it was visible that they both prepared for that moment and are totally on the same page:)

I don’t understand. Why don’t they simply replace gubanova with sitnitsyna then? If they’re pulling gubanova out, and they planned kanysheva for stage 3 in the first place??? It’s so confusing

I like this layout too, but is Russia going to give everyone two events?

If someone (hypothetically) bombs, who's next in line for the JGP? (Vasileva/Chistiakova/Kostuyk/someone who does well domestically, like Kostornaia did last season?)

I hope they do! Or at least do 8/6
I would think Vasilieva would be next in line. She was 6th at junior nationals
