Alina Zagitova

Thanks. Good performance by the Olympic champion I actually like the Phantom of the Opera music and the short program. Now she's at 17 thumbs down on YouTube for this video and I'm wondering who the heck is doing that?

I no longer read comments under the Alina video, she did not deserve all these bad words

She skated so well, I was apprehensive because of the jumps but she totally slayed me :drama:

Now I’m excited for Carmengitova. :cheer2:

Her performance was slightly weaker than the one at the Japanese show, but the jumps are back and big. Maybe she was more nervous, all those important people from the federation and other coaches looking at you must be awful! Good luck for the season, she will improve :agree:

Well done Alina.

Excellent 3lz-3lo with lovely exit out of the loop

What can I say about the 2A - loved it!!!! also notice beautifully held exit edge.

3F - if I were a judge it would be +5. difficult yet smooth transition into the jump and the jump itself is magnificent.

I think her movements across are ice have so much more freedom than before.

I think the ina-bauer and transition out it seem smoother than the Ice Show, but the camera angle makes it difficult to tell.

Spins are great as always.

I agree with LeoLeo - watching Alina moving so beautifully almost makes me forget the music cuts.

I am now pretending that Daniil is a composer and he wrote this beautiful song specifically for Alina. :luv17:

btw - she is still pounding her thighs before skating :cool2:

Am I the only one who just adores Alina's POTO and finds the music cuts a perfect fit to her choreography and it doesn't get boring?

The jumps are polished, well done, Alina! I gasped at the Charlotte-2A, it was much better in comparison to The Ice. I liked the step sequence at the Japanese show more, though, she looked a bit nervous now but she nailed her elements and did her job excellently. Now all she needs is a good sleep and tomorrow a great Carmen performance!

Go, go, Alinochka <3

Haterz gott hate! Youtube is full of nasty people - not just for skating videos - just about everything.

I will save this video to my computer and thus I don't have to keep going back to youtube to watch it.

Yes, I have the same opinion. This program is giving me complete sense. I wrote it just after The Ice. For me it is not POTO, it is about struggle of a girl's mind between desperation dragging her into the hoplessness and her struggle against it. And at the end (3F) she prevails. That's how I personally see it.

I guess youtube is vicious like twitter. Sad.

Alina has taken the Olympic motto to heart.

IMO - her jumps were "Faster, Higher, and Stronger"

Also - loved watching Eterri and Daniil doing a little "dip" at about 2:48 and then Eteri "guiding" Alina with her hand.

i've already blocked many people on twitter just today! youtube is just hopeless. And i can take criticism pretty well, there are just some things you don't say. Especially about a teenage girl :ohwell: anyway, our girl seems to be doing well. I remember people doubting she'd even be able to land her 3lz-3lo again after seeing how much she grew since the last competition. She is going to prove many people wrong this season. I feel it :agree:

Today, I found the music better than in The Ice. I know it's the same one, but probably a different acoustics or sth like that. Of course it look differently to skate just befure a few, but so important people, than to feel the energy from the crowd which actually love you.. At all, for me Alina did a nice job, all jumps are pretty good, it looks so easy while its extremely hard.

So I was not a big fan of this program, but now it look ok, it's pretty hard and when she'll execute it like she always does, it will bring her a lot of points, it definitelly could be the winner programe. Yes she deffinitely could have a better music, more originall, everything, but this program is a little bit challenge for Alina I guess and it will be only better with the time. I'm really looking forward to Carmen. :)

Do you think they will move Alina's combo in the 2nd half?

i wonder if they will  i feel like Eteri doesn't give her students layouts she thinks they cannot handle at least until they're ready to pull it off consistently without risk. Alina's transitions into jumps are pretty hard this time around so maybe they're choosing to bank on that instead of adding a combo that she could mess up. looking at the protocols from the JGP so far it seems judges love their transitions. She should get good enough GOEs thanks to them.

Well done Alina. It was so clean and nicely done. I played that triple flip over and over again because it was so high and beautiful, and perfectly landed the music. Now that she gets some good crossovers between jumps, they are higher & smoother. Zhenya and Alina both were a class above the rest today. It made me happy to see that. :)

Now another anxious wait to see her free tomorrow..

Btw, I really hope they used the toreador’s song in there; it’s such a perfect piece of music to skate and jump to. We know for a fact that she opens with Habanera. Will the 3lz3lo be the first pass? So many questions... I cannot wait!

oh you're right! Toreadors could be fun! i'm just praying for no vocals! just anything but that please
