Alina Zagitova

Her new layout is:

2A
3Lz-3Lo
3S
2A
---
3Lz-3T
3F-2T-2Lo
3F

There is a video from the warm-up where she performed 3Lz-3T (both Rippon): https://youtu.be/TJ275CzbmTM?t=118

I wonder why she didn't do the 3lz-3t here - and instead attempted the 3lz-3lo again.
Will she she do rippons on the 3lz-3t in competition???? I would love to see it and maybe not not do rippon/tano on the 2 doubles in the 3 jump combo.

I watched the fan-cam video which gives a much better view than the other one did.

I am very happy with this program for Alina. (music, choreography, jump placements)

fall on the 3lz and the 3F- she seemed to land a little too far back over the blade
the 3s seemed to be maybe about 1/2 UR (at least to me) - probably reason for step out?
I don't know why she "popped" the loop - never seen her do that before.

the 3 jump combo looked fine to me

I loved the 2 double axels. Both had difficult entries and were extremely smooth.
Very nice landing edges on both of them.
Not huge height - but very tight and precise.
She is becoming a double-axel princess for me - and maybe a queen in the making!

The choreography in the middle section really has so much potential.
Alina kind of just went through the motions here (can't blame her :(), but I predict this will keep getting better and better.

I want one change - please let her hold the spiral longer.
but I really liked the ina bauer into the forward move (whatever it is called)

I love where they placed the 3lz-3T music wise - the build up of excitement.

She gave an interview after the performance! i might be overeacting but she seems so disappointed :( https://twitter.com/FSIgstories/status/1038829570504445953

i hope someone will translate her interview when it's out. I'd love to hear her thoughts

here's the interview! i can't speak russian so i won't even try to translate! according to google translate, they wanted to go for a Carmen last season but they thought she wasn't mature enough? :scratch2: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1066822727.html

I am so glad she gave this interview, because it's really reassuring for me. She seems calm, realistic, spoke sincerely about the difficulties she has to face during this start of the season and seems in a great psychological state. I was heartbroken and sad, and here comes our Alinka, smart and fair, proving that she grew not only in terms of skating abilities, but also in terms of mental toughness. "I've made mistakes, I'm not happy with them, but I am working to be better every day and I am very motivated. "

How can you not admire her? Alinka we love you and you impress us everyday :luv17::luv17:

I watched the new FS again, in better resolution. And I saw something that wasn't noticeable for me at stream in Instagram. Regardless of how successful was last element, facial expression of Alina fully matches musical fragment, the mood of music. It's clear that during this summer they did huge work with her artistry. The result sure will come when the execution of the elements will be brought to automatism. Then the need to play face will not interfere with concentration.
P.S. I like this program very much.

I like the program, too and I agree that the improvements are evident. The only thing I‘m worried about is the popped loop because I‘ve never seen her do that, nor any other Eteri skater. They fall or underrotate but they don‘t pop. It must have been a mental thing. But I love how Daniil comforted her, I really like him. :)

Yes, as much as I can rely on google translate, she seems to know what to do during further trainings. Afterskate sadness is gone. After all, I've seen most of the skates and only one without a fall. It is really not something unusual at this point.

TAT: " I like what Medvedeva and Orser have done. And Zagitova needs to work on her gliding".
https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1066825031.html

I'm so tired of these constant jabs. :sad21:

you'd better get used to it! TAT never shuts her mouth lol she's known for saying whatever she wants whether people like it or not (she clearly doesn't like Kolyada and has been taking jabs at him for the longest time for example)

Lucky for her they are both skating to Carmen this season so she can just change gender pronouns and use the same critique, I say with more than a large spoonful of irony.

 TAT will have it very easy this year - no writer's cramp.

I guess you‘ve figured out what she was planning to do.

Guys this is going to be too easy for her, they are even conveniently slated to the same GP events.

“Conveniently“ ... I bet she went to rusfed and was like: “Zagitova and Kolyada for the same events, please“

She probably did  "come on guys, give a hating woman a hand, I need to be able to recycle my vitriol on these two, and if you can make them skate to the same theme, that would be perfect".

I am not sure if TAT hates Eteri because she has spoken well of her.. At least a couple of seasons ago when Medvedeva was winning. She's also complimenting the whole team for the work with the juniors. I don't know why she doesn't like Zagitova. I have the feeling that she's using the occasion to keep the Medvedeva vs Zagitova drama on (more media coverage etc.) because the Olympics ended, Med moved to another coach and Alina's working on her training, so the spirits were calming down.. :sarcasm: It's really inappropriate to put shade on Alina in such a way. She does also no favor for Evgenia because she puts her in an uncomfortable situation.

I just watch a few videos from today and: this program is stunning, I think it's really suits her well, for me this is good program for Olympic Champion. I was a little bit woried but this Carmen is as much original as Carmen should be, so nice surprice. I have no worries about her cause as we saw with POTO - she improve a lot since she show the program for the first time at The Ice, I'm sure it will be the same with this program. In this view I think it's really good decision to go to Nepela Trophy. I can't wait to see this program with the right dress. One day she execute it everyone will be frozen in amazement .. I'm actually big fan of her DQ, but I love this program more then DQ even I saw that only in this version, with training clothes and falls. :)

I think there must be really bad/hard athmosphere cause I saw video from the warm up and both Alina and Zhenya look just fabulous, their jumps was huge, stunning. And in program, Alina fall twice + one step up, Zhenya 1 fall + once I think step up too or she was at least very unsure with the landing .. I did not watch other girls but I read somewhere that there was a lot of falls ... It does not look just like accident ..

In the end I want to say I'm new there :) I'm glad I found this webside, It's nice to found there news and "met" fans who like Alina as I do! :) (And deeply sorry for my mistakes, I'm terrible student, my grammer is awful, I know that :D :D )

Alina's interview (no subs) but it's so great to see the smile came back to her face as the interview progresses and in the end where she is talking (I guess) about writing stuff in Japanese on her instagram account her beaming happy face is just a balsam.

Long one...6 minutes and when they cut the video from this source, reporters where still talking with her.

I will do an ad here, if you want someting great fo sunday evening, watch today's FP of (the other :) ) Tarasova and Morozov. It's pretty wow thing :agree:
