2018-19 U.S. Ladies' figure skating

Don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but Katie McBeath can do a 3Lz-3Lo. Interested in seeing how she moves forward this season with the momentum gained this summer...

she delays too much before going to 3Lo, and its almost 3Lo<< but i hope she can improve it! nice seeing all the ladies trying to improve and be more competitive

at least its a start. i don't recall any other US lady doing 3Lz-3Lo since Wagner did it about 10 years ago.

I know Alysa Liu tried it in competition a couple of times last year, but her 3Lz-3T was more successful (obviously) so she went back to it

She seems to always have some issue - boot problems, injuries, program swaps. I can't speculate too much without more knowledge, but it does make me wonder who is managing her as a skater and what decisions they are making. I do feel sorry for her though

Makes you wonder if burning the bridge with the old manufacture was really a good idea. I am not saying that the manufacturer was in the right but it looks like their product did work well for Karen.

Hi folks,

Just a friendly reminder

Please keep ALL competition chat in the Competition forums until the entire event is over. This includes scores, starting orders, elements, GOES, links to videos, etc.

You may discuss a skater's performance in their individual Fan Fest folder as long as you are not comparing them to other skaters or posting general event info until the competition is over.

Thanks for you understanding and for supporting Golden Skate!

Izzo did relatively well in Canada (I believe she has a lower total score than Pooja but higher than Ting) but I wouldn’t give a 2nd JGP spot to someone without a 3-3. Will be interesting to see what USFS does.

Courtney changed her sp, does anyone know the music? No video.

Bradie is still radio silent. ☹️ I am so wanting an interview or an Instagram post on her new technical content, costumes, reason for the music selections , etc.

Bradie's not one to post on IG. She usually goes in and does it, then shows us all in competition. Have to say that I like that mindset :)

She did very well, (minus a popped flip at the end of her long) the problem is that without a 3-3, you can’t podium. The girls she’s competing against do TWO difficult triple triples, gold and bronze both did +3loop.

Hei, long time since I've been at the forum. I just don't see the fire that once raged in US ladies' figure skating. I can't see the root of today's problem. Call me old fashioned, but no one promotes or encourages a Peggy Fleming or Dorothy Hamill anymore. If folks are betting on Bradee, well she needs more mature material to work with. I know this is subjective, but I don't see an 'it' factor with her. But with a post Olympic year, who knows, a new Linda or Kristi can appear.

Can we fire whoever is telling Courtney to do that 3F-3Lo combo in both programs? I can't think of a skater trying an element with a lower success rate than Courtney on that combo.

After watching the top ladies in the world, and Bradie during a local competition, I can say without any hesitation, right now Bradie has the best programs, and her jumps are spot on. I know it’s early in the season, but for now that stands!

I agree. I'd love to see Mariah Bell have a great season after last years disappointment. Has anyone seen her yet? Last question, how is Karen's injury? Do we know how long she'll be out?

They aired Mariah's new SP, choreographed by Adam, on the Japanese broadcast of The Ice last night. She had a silly fall on her 2A but otherwise I thought the program looked good.
