So I don't understand why it's suddenly not okay for Anna to still not quite be back to her consistency. It's not like she's never consistent - before her injuries she was quite consistent!

4 clean competitions out of a total of 7 in 2016/17 is by no means "quite consistent".
And you forgot Anna Tarusina - well, 9 months after her injury was off season, but after that she skated how many clean competitions in a row? 12?

So, Medvedeva is out of contention of any spot according to you? Because I really can‘t see how you‘d justify having Zagitova of all people lose hers. Interesting. Could you ellaborate how you came to that conclusion, please?

Medvedeva, even in her primitive first free skate, still looked a whole lot better than Masha did yesterday...

2. Rusfed supported her move to orser both politically and financially. If she does not get a spot this season, it will be a major hit on rusfed reputation, which means that, even if she skates meh, this year she will be propped at rusnats.

It's an interesting theory and reasonable but at Autumn Classics Zhenya got the lowest GOEs mainly from the Russian judge, so I don't know if they will support her that much as expected at RussNats.

But I think Masha is the one with the most odds against her, between her uni studies, lack of any particular special quality (sorry, helicopter tano doesn't count) and the most overrated of the top coaches. both Tuktik and Zhenya have room for improvement. I am not familiar with Tuktik's situation and why she lost her 3A, but she clearly can land it now, albeit not perfect and we might she her giving biggest PCS in future. ZHenya had long time off ice and is starting again... meanwhile Masha... she cannot seem to be able improve her tano over years, seems to be losing her jumps... is doing the same thing over and over again, hoping for a different result.
