We're talking about a Program with 3 quads though, not some minor 1-2 point differences. If Trusova for instance is clean there's no way she doesn't win.
With a clean FS she can score like 175 in Russia.
Kostornaya, Shcherbakova at least.Guys remind me again which Russian Junior ladies are working on her 3A? I remember someone mentioning it somewhere and I remember it isn't Sasha.
Kostornaya, Shcherbakova at least.
By the way, in a Small Russian local that I assume no one knows is going on(livestream with 35 viewers), in advanced novice Elizaveta Berestovskaya got 74.78 points for her SP.
Seniors ladies also are not allowed quads in the SP. But they are allowed 3A in the SP, unlike the juniors.
Kanysheva probably won't be allowed to compete. Last year, they didn't let Trusova or Tarakanova because they were under 14.
During her latest interview in Yerevan Trusova said she's going to raise the technical difficulty even more, in due time.
She's sick with high temp, lost some weight and not filling well, so - not today, sorry.
My guess is that they will work on getting the layout with 3 quads more stable up to junior worlds, and then maybe throw in another one.
Kinda their strategy for the last year too.
I guess they will not focus on doing it for nationals since winning senior nationals doesnt bring Sasha that many benefits, since she is not eligible to spots. For me, it would make all sense to peak at JW instead, to turn seniors with a bang.
JGPF qualifiers!!Chances are that Trusova doesnt focus on 3A right now simply because quads right now give her more advantage, since 1 quad > 1 3A
And then, next year, we will see her doing 2-3 3As across both programs.
it's a pointless to do 3A in combo in SP. Because then you will have to do 2a as a solo axel jump.for seniors the SP with 3A or better 3A in combo with +10% may result in a big difference.
Her both 2As are packed at the beginning of the program, right after the quads or between them which tells me that they intend to turn those into 3As at some point.
Edit: This also reminds me - do you think we'll see Scherbakova doing 3A soon?

Trusova tried to learn 3A before. No progress in some time prompted her coaches to try quads.
For juniors quads are OK, but for seniors the SP with 3A or better 3A in combo with +10% may result in a big difference.
If one or two seniors were doing SP higher than Trusova can arrange, it's OK. But if many do the same, Trusova may be pushed out of first six after SP. That is a big problem. All the quads on Earth may not help in FP...
Turenko is starting to really impress me. First good work with Gubanova, now good work with Sakhanovich and Nugumanova. Might rank her above Mishin soon due to Mishin's poor layout choices and choreography.
But from what we see in Men's, getting the 3A early is very important. My guess is that, if she wanted, she could do a 3A too.
The focus on quads in juniors makes sense because (1) it is more spectacular and (2) its higher BV (since you cannot use 3A or quads in short).
For seniors, where you can 3A in short, but you cannot quad, learning 3A makes more sense.
