I had to come out of work imposed hiding to share TSL's interview with Benoit: https://youtu.be/-PXgGprlBCY

He discusses how he got into choreography and he gets into detail about his work with skaters like Denis Ten, Jeremy Abbott, Bradie Tennell, Kaori Sakamoto, and Aljona (like Madonna she only needs one name). :hap85:

Benoit is really insightful and honest, so it's well worth a listen. If Aljona is impressed with how hard you work you must be pretty amazing :love:

Well, I am glad someone likes his work but many unfortunately not if to judge by comments here on GS (sorry to say). If I get a bit of time I'd like to listen to the interview to get some insight because his choreo puzzles me... it is all about angular shapes and rather unpleasing positions :confused2:

I think that's exactly why he's so insightful. He wouldn't have chosen Bradie's Cinderella music, for example. He talks about meeting skaters where they are and their multiyear process of growth. He's very practical.

I think his work with skaters who can actually realize his vision (Aljona, Jeremy, Daisuke) is a lot more interesting and rewarding.
