Zhang and nagasu are only 13 yo, long way to go, nobody knows wha's going to happen when puberty monster strikes... 2010 is far away...
Anyway, Zhang and Nagasu is a bit like Sasha and NNN.

This gal is incredible. Comfortable with lyrical and can turn on the rhythym when called for.

Mirai is by far my favorite junior lady in the US. She has a wonderful precision to her skating and has shown that she is very capable of skating to different types of music, unlike some other ladies. I love her energy and attack. She does need to focus on getting all of her jumps fully rotated (and I don't think she should even be trying triple axels right now, the video I saw of her attempt was a little scary), but overall I think she is wonderfully packaged.
To early to add Caroline Zhang, Mirai Nagasu and Rachette Flatt. All of them will pass the test of puberty monster. In my unscientific opinion, Flatt will be hit hard, Caroline will be in-between and Mirai will probably withstand it much better.

Ok let me understand your post. You can now predict the future. No one knows how a skater will develop in future. It would be better to hope for the best for these young skaters instead of gloom and doom.
What is the test of "the puberty monster?" Have you prepared a gradient scale for which the skating fans may review?
In your "unscientific opinion" , I'll add my formula,.... everyone, enjoy these skaters as they are, in this year and next and hopefully in the next year.
Fretting about the development of girls to woman in any sport, robs one from the pure enjoyment of their athleticism.
However, whatever about the scrawny dweeb boys? I cannot recall a thread, anywhere, predicting a manly growth spurt which could disrupt their talent. Doesn't this happen to boys too ?

Now there's a good question. No doubt it would depend on how drastic the physical change was. I don't remember the exact year, or which commentator pointed it out (Scott Hamilton, maybe), but there was a period where Michael Weiss increased his upper-body muscle mass to the point where it threw his jumps off.

Honestly i don't think it does. Girls bodies changing can throw off their centre of gravity pretty harshly thus ruining the timing of jumps often resulting in the need to relearn the jumps again from scratch. With boys going through puberty their centre of gravity does not change nearly as much and the increase in muscle tends to make jumping easier because of the increase in strength.
That is my very unscientific opinion but i don't think puberty hits the boys as hard, even a big growth spurt for a boy isn't going to be as troublesome in timing for jumps as the general changes to a girls body would be.

ITA, I think a majority of things in life seem to be harder for girls to deal with growing up. Not undermining the issues a boy might deal with, but I conceder a number of "naturally happening factors of nature" in my life to not be nearly as difficult to deal with as some of the girls I grew up with. This is a comparison, and as I always say "life is relative" but I was sure happy not to have to deal with what "nature" threw at the girls I knew from 12 - 18. And I for one will never deny the comment, "girls rule." They overcome so much to become a woman yet guys can "getaway" with being "boys" forever much easier. IMO

Her triple lutzes looked cheated, but really thank is nit picking. Her spins are beautiful. I enjoy her skating aot more than Carloine Zhang. Mirai has a lot more energy and life in her performnaces. She has abetter sense of performnce and has a almost as good spiral sequence. She may be may favorite american skater in the ladies divison for these nationals.
