Mikhail Kolyada

Yes, it's true that he skated a perfect SP the day before the team event. And he was doing well in Japan too, or they would have considered replacing him (Aliev wasn't doing better though). There was absolutely no physical reason for him to skate such a bad SP.

Take it with a grain of salt, but here is the planned content for SP:
4T+3T
3Lz
3A

and FS:
4S
4T+3T
3A+2T
3A
3Lo
3Lz+1Eu+3S
3Lz

Well, that's changed from the old one, and it means he's not leaving a place for the quad lutz in the free for now, and also came back with two double axels. I am surprised. Let's see what happens.

Hilarious report by tafattsbarn, posted on Planet Hanyu (GS doesn't let you link there but):

Saw Yuzu walk by by accident. Followed by a flock of admirers as usual ^-^
Mikhail saw me laughing because i found it amusing and laughed back at me. Don't know if he was laughing at me or with me lol.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Not sure if that's exactly what he is planning to skate. We'll see.

How can I never hear of that?!?!? I can't imagine what his mind might go through during the Olympics, I'm concerned [emoji24]

Anyway, the old has gone, the new has come. I'll pray for him.

SP runthrough in practice:
4Т-3Т excellent, high 3Lz, beautiful 3А, StSq, FSSp, CCoSp. No mistakes. Looks to be in good form.

I hope skating last doesn’t get to him. You’ve got this, Misha!

Do they have another practice tomorrow? The short program seems so far away

Yes, they have a practice every day, how else?

At least Misha is not the one having to skate right after Yuzuru. And considering what is going on with Bychenko judges may give Misha a few extra points just for the contrast.
More practice reports - Misha and Andrei Lazukin jumped a lot and well in practice, Boyang didn't jump much. Not sure how meaningful this is, if Boyang skates badly it's usually for physical reasons, the other two not necessarily.

It's good to know that Misha seems to be in good health - he did not look well during Finlandia Trophy. Hoping he can have two clean programs this time (we're always hoping, haha)

This is from yesterday's practice: here we got 3A, 4T-3T and 2 quad salchows. Also, people are saying he looked amazing and all the other good things, so hopefully he can skate just as good tomorrow.

Thanks for the link, amazing jumps. Oh I am a nervous wreck already, I wish the SP was over today
I am worried about him skating last (at least not after Yuzuru -something to be thankful for!) but what were the odds for both Mika & Stanislava drawing 11 and skating last in the event where were supposed to be 12 skaters?
I wonder if competing against Yuzuru is actually a good thing for his nerves - knowing his chances of winning are very slim so the pressure is off (to the extent of course)

Didn't Misha comment something along those lines before? I get the feeling he said something like this. Who knows, he looks good, practice seems to be going well, let's see how he holds up.

You probably think of Boston where he landed very unexpectedly in LP last flight and said that skating in the warm-up with Yuzuru motivated & inspired him. I fear the novelty might have faded a bit since
