That Lz was good, so she normally took off for the second jump, and...
And yes, without such mistakes, one could start to think that this sport is just some free time pleasure.
A 1Lo is an invalid element, as Bradie taught me at Skate America, so that essentially slayed her 3Lz score (she got -5 GOE across the board because of the invalid element). And her 3Lz was at least a +4 on its own.
She made the rest of the program work to her advantage and delivered. I liked seeing that, liked that there wasn’t a fall. It used to be better to fall than pop but now with the cap on PCS (you can’t score higher than a 9 in anything if you have a fall), plus the fall deduction, plus the negative GOE on the fallen element I’m not so sure anymore which one is worse.
For Alina it worked out for the better, I’m glad she was smiling again at the press conference, she still looked not happy but she is a perfectionist. Part of me is glad she is not able to laugh it off, it is what makes her such a great athlete, and the other part wishes she wouldn’t feel so crushed because she doesn’t deserve it. She is amazing. I want her in high spirits for tomorrow.
Wise words, Alina :luv17:
Hope tomorrow will be better thay for everybody.
