Alina Zagitova

It might not be a bad idea to have Masaru at Rostelecom. It would take some of the attention off of Alina and keep her smiling which can only help with nerves and pressure. Make it happen Eteri!

You know what would be funny!!

Masaru jumping at the judges and toppling down the tech panel’s monitors.

She sure would be the ultimate stress relief support Alina can get, even if she went full on “Owlina loving” style at the kiss & cry furniture.

That would be the ultimate test to Masaru’s obedience school acquired manners.

Remember Masaru, manner hands, manner hands. Your compatriot Yuzuru is in the house.

But it may take too much of her attention and make her unfocused.

don't you dare! My Maltese will eat you alive. :cool14: Tina will help!

Chihuahuas originated in Mexico, we are proud of them, haha. It's like the saying goes, "chiquito pero picoso" which means something like "small but lethal.":p

"Ankle Biters"

Our family had 2 chihuahuas over the years.
They're little but sturdy. One lived almost 16 years, the other almost 17!

Don't be afraid, I have small spitz

Flanker, lesnar001 and atsumiri, I nominate you to go to Masaru’s 1st birthday party.

Wait for my owl (Harry Potter movie quote).

I thought it was a white wolf in your avatar but it's a spitz. They are feisty little dogs! My friend had a spitz named Thor. That dog lived up to his name.

Well, that's not my dog (and that lady is not me, of course , it's just my favorite picture from amazing photographer Olia Khlopotova), but he is similar, although much bigger than mine.

I hope Rika's amazing performance will really sharpen Alina's focus for the upcoming competitions.

She needs to really build on what she did early (Nebelhorn, Japan) and forget about the problems at Helsinki.

I'm hoping she needs a "challenge" like this to motivate her even more.
Maybe she thrives more on "underdog" status - or if not that, when the attention isn't just drawn on her.

Look at how great she skated last season at Europeans and Olympics (comeptitions with Evgenia).

In any event, Rika has sounded the wakeup call for EVERYONE (not just Alina).

You are 100 % right. Alina always delivered the best when she had formidable rival. It's her competitive nature, being better then the best of the rest. In Nebelhorn and Japan Open she had to battle herself, now it's time to battle other skaters.
