I think its human nature to root for the underdog and especially to hope for a comeback story. And the thing about being "king of the hill" - everyone is trying to tear you down. You rivals want to dethrone you and the rest of the world wants to pick apart and criticize everything.
On a slightly different note, I'm wondering why people use Turzynbaeva's career in criticizing Orser? She started with Eteri and then moved to Orser and back to Eteri, correct? I'm not sure how long she was with each of them but she was 11th in the world under Orser. She had some really good skates early this year, but that was only a couple months after moving back to Eteri, and I don't see her breaking into the top ten in the world this year. Just saying I'm not sure why everyone thinks that Orser was so bad for her. Also, Daleman earned a bronze at Worlds while under Orser and also has an Olympic gold medal (even if she underperformed she still a gold medalist).
Alena is almost a full year older than the other two, it would make sense for her to experience puberty earlier. She lucked out by being born in August and has no chance to win everything in seniors while still 15.My reasoning is that’s she’s definitely not top dog amongst her peers. She seems to be experiencing puberty the most of the 3A. She was visibly emotional at her last JGP.
Eteri method is cut throat, especially if you aren’t the #1 priority. I could completely understand her wanting a different training environment in the near future.
I understand where you're coming from and can appreciate your opinion! However in regards to the skating skills, I think a lot of what you're saying is subjective. For example, I think Zhenya's SS have visibly improved.
I know the goal is to eventually surpass these marks obviously but it can be concerning to and nerve wracking for some. I see some good decisions being made to hopefully prolong her career and potentially give her a reliable technique into adulthood. I also see some decisions that seem rather unfortunate. I’m not very opinionated honestly. Equally concerned and confident.Oh oops - it's Monday and I've been sick for 2 weeks give me a break![]()

Please share this vision with the judges who have been giving her lower scores this seasonI know the goal is to eventually surpass these marks obviously but it can be concerning to and nerve wracking for some. Wait wait lmao so you're saying the judges word is the objective truth?? So you'd seriously argue that a skater like Alina Zagitova has better SS than Satoko Miyahara? Or as good as Caro? Or that she has the greatest program components of any active singles skater (including Yuzuru Hanyu, who, if you negate the factoring of PCS, will see that judges gifted Alina better PCS than Yuzuru thus far in the season)?? I can't help but laugh
I'm dipping out now cuz id hate to be the reason this thread gets derailed once again, apologies to the mods
And this is actually objective.Maybe they have visibly improved to you but to me she’s now often doing shoulder shimmies and leg kicks in places that she used to do light and difficult steps.
On the topic of Zhenya’s SS:
I was appalled by her receiving 8s in that category at ACI, but then I realized that there was a significant reduction in the seconds Zhenya spent on one foot. And I don’t think there’s that big a difference in her flow yet, since under Eteri she had pretty good flow in the step sequences anyway. And she also suffered through a huge loss of flexibility (not related, but I’m just curious why she isn’t as flexible).
One of the most nonsense comparison I have ever seen for many years. Although I don't agree with Zagitova's PCS and sometimes I find Hanyu underscored, comparing their PCS made no sense. People think that is the best way to discredit Zagitova and prove her PCS unjustified. But no, it's one of the most stupid things one can do.As for the whole Alina's PCS vs Yuzuru's... no sense in comparing two skaters in two different disciplines across different competitions.
If skaters have excellent SS you can see it in crossovers, which of course doesn't mean they only do crossovers, but if they do steps, it's with deep clean edges, speed and good ice coverage. Zhenya never had it and still doesn't, although I think they are working on it. She used to compensate better than now, giving her "Canadian" programs risks exposing her weaknesses since Canadians generally don't have anything they need to hide or compensate for, if their school is known for something it's SS. On the other hand they found a way to handle Javi whose SS are not exactly his biggest strength, so they may figure something out.On the topic of Zhenya’s SS:

And Alina receiving better PCS than Yuzuru was all because of the all-too-nice panel at Nebelhorn. That was ONE event. At both ACI and SC Zhenya received 8.60 - 8.90 for SS in comparison to the consistent 9s she had been getting before the coaching change.
But on a related note: even Alina received an 8 in SS (yeah even Alina) at her grand prix event. So maybe judges as a whole are being stricter? Or maybe the Olympic inflation is finally decreasing.

Avdokhin is deeply saddened by the fact that his and his fellow contributor's piercing insights such as " Zagitova is having problems. Her first place is a luck", "Medvedeva had the worst skate in her life! What happened?", "Medvedeva vs Zagitova. When will they met and whose program is better?", "It seems like Kolyada will always fall. It's a psychology" (right before the Helsinki GP) aren't popular amongst sports.ru fellas who keep telling him to shut up.Hmm Avdokhin of sports.ru has started to promote some love here
Fans gonna fight soon in FS. There is no such angriness even in football.

1 of the points:
- popular fan-group of "some female athlete" who will not be in Megasport Arena during Кубок Ростелеком has planned a flash mob - to decorate the arena by banners with the image of this athlete. Probably for psychological pressure on the rivals, who will currently skate.
- fan group of "another female skater" who currently will skate there promotes the action to stop yelling, making noise and generally speaking before and during the performance of their favorite athlete.
Gonna be interesting "repetition" before Nationals
There is no Tsareva in Sambo-70, I suspect. She is in Kudriavtsev' Academy now http://www.tdfk.ru/ice-academy/coaches/
(Panenkova announced it weeks ago)
Whoa, really? So Tutberidze is the only elite coach left. Who has Tsareva's rink now?
They shared one rink. There are still some "minor" coaches, who work with little kids.
