Alina Zagitova

OK, maybe that 3F was not good (bad 2 actually), and 3-2-2 combo seems to me a little lower than usually .. but you know what? I don't care ..we all know she can those jumps, that happened. But the way she skate? Guys she DANCE! And not a lot girls have this ability .. Her moves has flow, if anybody dare to say again this girl is just technician without artistry, then he never see her skate .. she is moving forward by mile steps ..she is better with every step .. like really .. And I don't see that huge progress from any other girls in last years.

No, today wasn't perfect. But who has to be perfect for every skate?

Alina has made the final. Hopefully she will defend her title there, but I just want to see her smile no matter what :)

I know this wasn't the Carmengitova moment she wanted to have skating at home in front of her friends and family, but she is always amazing. Just one mistake. (Daniil's reaction!)

The time for Alina to 'peak' with this program is coming up. Better to get the kinks out now when there is not so much at stake. I'm really proud of her for handling all the pressure. She is truly something special.

Also cheers to us, my wonderful Alina family, for 600 pages of enjoying this wonderful girl and each other. :ghug:

And 222,95 is still 3rd highest score under new system ever. Only Alina herself in Nebelhorn (238,43) and Rika (224,38) with her flaweless 3A and 3Acombo score better.
It could be good that she does not skate clean because she will be more hungry, determine to be next time better, and we know how she is able to work, and then she will peak in the right moment - Euros and Worlds. Since we know how she strugles with jumps and that she still dont have muscle memory, I'm not worry at all. Jumps become more stable with every training. :)

Alina has the sad curse, that in case she isn't as great as usually some people immediately say she is terrible, no matter how good she is in all aspects. Also some people forget that last season during Gp series she wasn't flawless at all either. But we know this.

She's got UR calls on Lz in 3Lz-3Lo combo and on 3F combo. I bet this was due to nervousness that ties her, because otherwise her technique is brilliant. I'm also glad there was no UR call on the whole combo like the last time. Again, she is fighting herself, of she can win this, she will be unstoppable.

Yes, she wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t bad too. It was better than Helsinki in my opinion.

Alina usually peaks later in the season, that’s why I’m not too worried.

Alina wins by a huge margin even in her off-days, and that is very reassuring for her  Maybe she wasn't as sharp as she was yesterday, but the job was done and her performance (beside that flip pop) was clean, very musical and precise.

No athlete can be always at 100%, that's simply impossible, but what matters is:
1). to be able to perform at 100% of your capacity when it counts the most
2). how you perform in these "off days", in order to still surpass everyone
and I think Alina is excelling at both these aspects.

Happy days  The season started amazing, Alina won every competition she took part in and I think it's only the beginning.

Actually, all skaters intending to take part in the Worlds have season is about twice as long as weak skaters have. And there is no sense to gain best conditions too early. For those, who are aimed on the GPF - not earlier than December.

Agree, I wonder where were these people after the brilliant SP? But one little pop, after an otherwise clean performance, and they start again with their apocalyptic fictions.

Tennis players always sais "those wins, when you have bad day, dont have first serve, timing etc. are more important than the one when you won in less then hour in brutal style, because it give you lesson, make you stronger because you have toovercome yourself and won." And today, after those bad 3F she does not skate upset, she was not off from it .. she move amazingly till the end. I was so proud of her then I see that determination in her after that mess jump.

And overall she was still god damn good.

Well, they were able to defame even her yesterday's skate. You can't count those people have something like honesty :) I would like to promise I will not read youtube comments, but somehhow that is impossible to fulfill :)

Congrats to Alina for making the GPF :hap10:

Despite her troubles in the 2nd half of the program, I feel she "sold" the program a lot better than Helsinki.

I thought the 1st half was exceptional - if she can channel that for the whole program - the magic "160" will follow.

I've never been the biggest fan of "3 jump combos" because they can really look labored when not executed perfectly.
Today was "Exhibit A"

This is first time that I've seen her look tired at the end of a program. She must have really fought to get through it.
Good for you Alina. I wonder why the fatigue seemed to set in?

And although she wasn't happy like yesterday, she didn't seem on the verge of tears either.

I liked the way in the K&C she and Eteri know the scores reflect what she did today and what will need more work.

I'm looking forward to her Gala performance.

Let‘s not talk about hater.s.

Alina wasn‘t perfect in the FS but she was brilliant in the SP. Next time it will all come together. She needs some time, she can‘t be perfect always. She‘s just human and considering everything she‘s going through, she‘s doing so, so well. I know she won‘t be satisfied with her skate and that was a really weird mistake on the flip but it happens. Next time will be better. Just like the SP was so much better this time! Don‘t be too sad, Alina, it’s still a gold. And the performance wasn’t even bad, he jumps were just a bit hesitant today. But nothing terrible! Honestly, it’s not like she bombed the entire program, it was just a UR and a tiny technical miscalculation during take off which resulted in a popped jump. Let‘s not act like this is a reason to freak out. All is well.

Anyway, it‘s better to peak later in the season. Her eyes are set on the Worlds. She‘ll certainly improve and be better at GPF, too, though. That‘s just her, she wants to be perfect and that‘s okay. Just take some time and remember you‘re fine the way you are, Alina, and that you are allowed to make mistakes! You don‘t have to be perfect all the time, you‘re only human. And we all support you! :)

It seems that victory at Rostelecom came at a high price for Yuzu and somewhat less so for T&M. :( Even Stepanova & Bukin had an uncharacteristic mistake in their rhythm dance. Congratulations to all of them, and wishing Yuzu a full recovery.

I hope Alina is happy with her victory and can 100% enjoy her exhibition skate. Time for Croftgitova!

This wasn’t perfect but what I liked about it is that she didn’t let these mistakes affect the integrity of her programme - she stayed in the character and was musical and affectionate. Our girl is growing up to be a seasoned competitor!

also, both Olympic champions performed in solidarity today, ur calls and a pop, and yet a win by a big margin!

I know Alina is not satisfied with her performance perfectionist as she is, but she truly made her fans happy.

Looking forward to fierce Lara Croft tomorrow!
