Is this run by the same team? I notice they use English while the IG account is in Russian, generally.

Google translation for Japanese is the worst. It can be bad for other languages but seeing their attempts at Japanese/English I feel they’ve just taken bad to a whole new level.

Japanese pronounce the L in a way that is close to R, so we have Arena, Queen on the Ice Arena!! They love her so much that I’m cool with however her name sounds.

"You spoony bard!" (note: that was not a correct translation.)

Yeah, as a JRPG gamer I know all about bad translations. Granted they are a whole lot better today than they used to be. Play some old games translated from Japanese to English and laugh. And the "R" and the "L"... which to use for characters's names is a big guessing game till the official English translation. I could only guess what google translate would be like for Japanese and that article translated shows it's a riot!

Masaru looks right at home as she takes over the big comfy mattress, relegating poor Alina to the couch. I hope that this is not the way things go at home. The couch is not the place to sleep for an Olympic champion.

this is because the russian words for 'skate' and 'rental' are homonyms, and spelt the same way (well, not quite homonyms, as there is a morphological connection but it is too long and uninteresting to explain). And as google translate is a 'statistical' translation it always chooses the more frequent use of the word, which is 'rental' rather than 'skate'.

Alina and Masaru are becoming more and more popular and that makes me so happy I wonder if Alina would have imagined at first, when she just expressed her wish to have an Akita dog, how far this beautiful relationship will go Together as a team, they are a trademark, and it's no wonder, because they are adorable :luv17:

P.S.: Masaru's signature is something to be remembered. Now I have on my wish-list, beside an autograph from Queen Alina, also one from Princess Masaru

I am not sure, that Alina can state in a legal document that she is an owner of Masaru. It totally looks like the other way round ))
