I think a nice person on Twitter is doing translations of segments from this interview.

Practice starts very early, usually I get up at 8 o'clock, when I was younger I used to wake up at 5 o'clock. At breakfast I don't eat much try to watch my figure, always pay attention to my make up,while I do standard procedures I like watching"Harry Potter"movies

My father still gives me some advises, he is more experienced sportsman and now coach than I am, but the most especially, I listen to my coach, she knows better.

Been a mute browser here for a good while and finally all this overload of excitement is making me talkative. Hello! A great admirer of Alina, not only for her superb skating and performing skills and her dedication to refining her craft, but also her exemplary, cheerful and humble manner and generosity in the way she engages with her supporters, admirers, coaches, clubmates and competitors. She seems to have a peripheral vision that notices and embraces the shy and the straggling, something that suggests she empathises with the outsider.

Also, though I have not participated, this fan thread is one where I like to dawdle (as, I am sure, many other quiet visitors do), finding here a wonderfully affirmative spirit, evincing enthusiasm and love for Alina; and (most of the time) mutual support and good-natured chitchat. It is always great to see how it quickly gets pulled back into positivity (lusk8 deserves mention but many others do so too) on those few occasions when outside distractions threaten to pull it off-track.

I wish Alina the utmost best, for a memorable and enjoyable joust with the others, Thursday and Friday, and ascendancy to the top of the podium!

It was great to read your post and your take on Alina, you sure pictured her just like she is.

Post as often as you feel like it and it's great to have you here.

Another translated quote from the NTV channel interview with Alina that Orlov linked to above:

"My GP performances were normal, but I made some mistakes, they were clear to me, coaches and audience, I'm never too excited about my scores, never think-yes, I'm first, cool!"wasn't thinking like this even at the Olympics. My trainings are as intensive as during Olympic season" source https://twitter.com/mishubrunelo

That is our girl!! Always working harder and harder and giving 150%.

Thank you for your warm word of welcome! It is great to have found my voice

And that NTV quote you pointed out... so typically understated and humble, and also reassurance, if it's needed, of Alina's admirable commitment to achieving higher goals and not resting on her substantial laurels.

My fan-girl heart is happy. Alina just followed Katarina Witt, the original Carmen, on IG! :luv17:

Hello, and welcome! Post long and post often. :)

Most of the posters here are really nice people, but when someone insults or attacks or otherwise tries to brush off Alina we turn into The Angriest Thread [SUP]TM[/SUP]. Please feel free to nudge things back in the direction of peace and happiness when you see that happen. :agree:

Go Alina! :hap10:

I found this interesting piece of advice on how to track down your favorite skater at a competition

My advice is to track down the hard core fans and follow them, they’re seasoned competition goers and know which door to hang outside of to grab selfies with skaters. I met a girl who managed to take a selfie with alina zagitova at helsinki despite having eteri constantly looking over alina’s shoulder. Talk about brave. Easiest way to spot them is to look out for a hoard of people seemingly standing in front of a door at the arena for no reason. Chances are that door will lead to the skaters warm up area or the press conference and they’re waiting for someone to come out.

Good job Eteri! Keep those dangerous fans away!!
