2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Looking at this roster https://www.fsrussia.ru/results/1819/rusnat1819_ENG/SEG003.HTM
and thinking:

This could be overall best quality competition in history of ladies figure skating.
In other worlds, if you take any competition in history, with at least 18 ladies and you will compare 1st place with 1st, 2nd with 2nd.... and 18th with 18th, this could win over everything we have already seen at least 10:8 (or at least the draw  )

I really hope that nerves of ladies in this highly competetive field don't throw my prediction into trash

Well, firework rocket, let's say. China's currently operating HSR trains are already achieving 350 km/h. The average speed Beijing to Shanghai is 300 km/h. R&D trains there are aiming to achieve 1500 km/h eventually. A completed test rail has been built for 450 km/h trials. Routes are already being identified and surveyed. My understanding is much cargo will also go overland, a huge saving on the sea lanes, though perhaps slower than the passenger HSR. Japan is also getting interested in linking up via Sakhalin. (Though the northern sea passage is also being developed now that it's navigable.)

Yes, entirely new rails and routes, so gauge will be standardised and or "flexible".
So Alina may be trendsetting with her trainsetting :). Won't give links, because I don't want to get rapped across the paws for straying OT.

Beijing to Shanghai is a MUCH shorter route. Also, climate is much less not nice in that area (most of the transsiberian goes through a region that is 10 degrees colder than Beijing in winter, for example, and then snowfall, and then distance to inhabitated areas...). There are quite a few unique technical challenges in such a long rail in such a complicated region.

Seeing Trusova have a clean skate today, and Scherbakova an almost clean skate makes me that much more excited :D

Even though I appreciate the beauty and wonder of Elena and Anna, when Trusova's music starts, my heart races. There is something about her that is just thrilling to behold.

New layout from Zhenya:
3Lz
3S-3Lo
3F-2t-2t
3Lo
2A-3T
3F
2A
FS looks amazing in practice! I hope she nails like this in competition!
GO ZHENYA!!!!

I decided to watch some performances from JGPF to familiarize myself with the top junior ladies competing in seniors at Russian Nationals tomorrow. (I’ve kind of been living under a rock when it comes to junior ladies lol.) And oh my, I was totally blown away by Alena Kostornaia. She skates with an artistry far beyond her years, and it appears to come naturally from within. What a special talent she is. I hope she has a long career and isn’t affected by growth spurts, etc., because IMO she has the potential to become one of the best ever.

From reports it sounds like the morning practice did not go well for many girls...

Please ladys, don't try to outdo the men with their splatfest yesterday :(

I’m hoping we have levels of quality that we saw at NHK. Still the best ladies competition this season.

The struggle is real. The last ladies group of Japanese Nationals and the first group of Russian nationals will probably overlap.
