Alina Zagitova

Alina Zagitova Media just posted this warmup from today and boy it was rough. She misses the axel and pops the Lutz like three times. Probably the toughest warmup I've ever seen from Alina.

It's a miracle how she pulled it together. I wonder if she's feeling 100%. Hope she feels better tomorrow in the Free!! :agree:

This fanfest is just the best place!! Like Alina is the best skater!!

You guys rock and I loved to catch up and read all the sensible, amazing, happy posts here today.

Small Alina interview after the FS (and I have to say, lucky pink ball came through and is now full cycle).

Alina is an amazing girl and the performance she delivered today was outstanding, when you think you have seen the best she comes out and shows you that....nope...the best is yet to come. I love our girl, her maturity, how great she felt about winning her silver and how great she feels to be performing in competition.

I didn't know she had such a rough warm up, it makes her perfect skate even more commendable. I also understand now the emotional reaction (or relief) at the end.

Also, I guess we've all seen this season how her lutz has been going a bit more on the flat side (not necessarily flat). I thought it would take a long time to get it back at how it was, I couldn't believe it looks like this only three weeks after the gpf. Seems like she never stops!!

Just popping in to say WELL DONE, ALINA! That was a wonderful SP, and I'm very proud of her for pulling it together after a rough warm-up. Good luck tomorrow! :luv17:

Hoping she can hold off Sasha and the rest for rusnat gold.

By the way our very own Zenskate has been on fire in the ladies Russian Nationals thread today like I've never seen before. Edroz would be proud.

Well, it is always better not having clean warmup and clean skate than the other way around :)

She has the mentality of both a champion and a true sportsman.

She realizes that you WIN Silver, not LOSE Gold.

Some notable "poor sports" who trashed their silver or bronze medals could really learn something.
(not just FS, any sport)

Well said.

What a fantastic day this has been for Alina (and her fans :hap85: ). For a change I did not find a stream and watch live, so I sneaked into the forums afterwards to find some pleasant news before I sat and watched the whole event in a calmer state of mind than usual.

Alina looked radiant. She seemed cheerful and relaxed, just a little nerves at the start. Eteri, Sergei and Daniil seemed particularly relaxed too, about Alina and the three juniors. Her run-through didn't look that bad to me, if there were a couple of slip-ups, perhaps that was a good spur for Alina.. The order of skate seemed propitious, with plenty of breathing room around her. Alina's skate was a joy to watch, fluid and strong, and she looked rightfully pleased and relieved at the end.

Things are now well-poised for her tomorrow. The cluster of pursuers cluttering the silver podium place at this point is close enough to provide a challenge, while there's that small margin to ease the pressure and encourage a clean skate. Somehow, I imagine Alina feeling quite happy that the other Eteri ladies all did nicely too.

Here's hoping she maintains or extends the gap in the FS, or at least stays ahead of the strongest challengers and emphatically strikes gold; but whatever the outcome, she has already delivered gold service to her team, supporters, family and herself.

:hap85:

Can I just say I've really been liking Alina's makeup lately? That Shiseido collaborations really paying off!

Alina became a master of makeup long before the start of cooperation with Shiseido. In my opinion, she is a three-time world champion in makeup.

She looks absolutely amazing. Just ethereally beautiful. Shiseido could not have chosen a better representative for their products.

I read in one of her post skate interviews that she and her family will be going home to Izvehsk for the New Years holiday. I wonder if the new apartment is ready yet? I can't remember what it needed to have done to be finished. I hope that it is and they get to bring in the new year in a brand new apartment together as a family. Maybe Alina will even share a picture or two. If not Alina, we can hopefully count on Sabina to post something :)

I guess this will be Masaru's first visit to Izvehsk? I imagine she will be welcomed like the celebrity she is!

Thank you.

But the numbers are deceiving.

I signed up in 2005 because they blocked the forum at busy times unless you were a registered member.

My first post here was in March 2018 right after Worlds.

So I am trying desparately to make up for lost time! :drama:

PS - there were a lot of in-between years where I didn't even visit the forum at all.
But the Prodigal Son has returned home.

Thank goodness you did because I don't honestly know what I (or this fan fest) would do without you!
:ghug:

I joined during Sochi Olympics and was so excited about Yulia, Adelina and Elena I., but I never posted anything. The V/M and D/W threads were too much for me. The Adelina vs. Yuna's entire fanbase online war was traumatizing. Then Elena and Nikita broke up at Worlds. Then Yulia..... The whole thing just made being a fan not much fun.

Another reason I love Alina. She has made it fun to be a fan again and to be a part of a group of fans. :thank:

Yea it really doesn't metter. But truth is, that they almost dominate.. But I don't know. I dont wanna speak there about other ladies, but when I see her with them, I really apreciate how much she've grown and mature. She is very beautiful young lady. She is 16 but doesnt look like a child anymore, not visualy, not by skating. (What's more, she is like no one, she has unusual face, she is interesting.) All aspect of her skating are better and better, and it's not so long she was as small as 3A. Especially I admire her bigger flexibility, with age it's usually harder, but she improve there.
It's not a long time ago since she join Eteri's group, desn't have all triples, broken leg and arm and start again. Today her pic with Alena and Sasha really made me think about that.

Thank you.
