Anna Shcherbakova

Anna at last :dance2:gets the recognition she deserves.

It is to be hoped that all those who prattle on and on about "small jumps", "Anna falls apart", "Anna should stay behind in juniors" etc etc. will at least pause for thought now.

Alright, guys...who was the one saying Anna should be held back in juniors?

(Really, though, if Anna gets held back for an extra year after winning SENIOR NATIONALS against Kostornaia, Trusova, Zagitova, Medvedeva, etc, then I don’t even know what to say.)

Congrats to Anna for gold. This is the example that one bad competition says absolutely nothing about the strength of the skater. In JGPF Anna was in tears and now she is the winner of RusNats.

Congrats Anna and her team , she was amazing today

Yeah she's kind of the silent Superstar on the team but with a lot of game. She came up big today. Sasha has had her great moments in the last year as has Alena. But now it's Annas turn in an unbelievably high profile media covered crazy fans cheering on Russian Nationals. It's like they're mini Olympics and Anna survived and thrived and won gold.

Congrats Anna. It was a wild and crazy Russian Nationals for the ladies and I am wiped out by it.

She might be tinny and quiet but when she's on, she's on. I am so happy for Anna !! Delivered when it mattered :luv17:

AHHHHH ANNA DID IT! :yahoo:

She won senior nationals in her first try and skated her best competition of the season! Way to go, Anya!

I'm in awe of what she's been able to do. To think that a few years ago, she didn't even have a 2A. Then she broke her arm, then her leg, and I didn't know when, or if, she would get to skate on the JGP, let alone jump quads. And then she debuted on the JGP, and skated beautifully in Bratislava, and all was good with the world... until the JGPF. I almost cried watching her there. Today, I almost cried because I was so happy for her. Two weeks after that competition, she turned around and skated lights out at her first senior nationals and landed her 4Lz like a boss . I am so proud of her, and so happy because now she'll likely get to go to JWC and turn senior next year. And Russian National Champion is a huge honor, at least equal to World Champion, if not even harder to attain. Great job, Anya, and good luck! :hap10:

She is quite unreal. Her free skate is absolutely breathtaking, very well thought out and very well put together. Just magical. Congratulations on the win!!! ❀.(*´◡`*)❀.
