Anna Shcherbakova

Congratulations to Anna! She performed such an inspirational, expressive and exceptionally challenging program with a relentless gauntlet of jumps including a quad lutz that she landed so smoothly with really fine height and beautiful air position and posture, which she carried through to her triple / triple combos and ended with a fabulously extended layback transitioning into a Biellmann, while combining fine flexibility with dynamic speed and centering. And what amazing resilience to come back with these inspirational performances and win against such long odds as a junior, so soon after her difficulties at the Grand Prix Final. Tarasova was over the moon with praise during and after her freeskate calling her phenomenal with such wonderful speed, expression, centering, speed and concentration with maximum difficulty in jumps and spirals (spins) and all her elements.

This is what I could make out, though I know I missed some and may not be that accurate. Here is Anna's triumphant performance with Tarasova's highly engaging and complimentary commentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uEtYppgnCY

Congrats to Anna!! So happy for her especially after the disappointing GPF performance. What a performance to clinch gold at her first Nationals! Hoping we see lots more performances like this in the future from her.

Amazing free skate. Wow. Congrats.

Anna, our new Russian National Champion! I still can't believe it!

After everything this girl went through , this is so well-deserved and I am so happy for her!:luv17:

And not only she is the champion...she skated like a champion! Today's performance was mesmerizing, shouting confidence and control, Anna's musicality shined brighter than ever and her 4Lz...just perfect!

Congratulations, Anna, you are amazing and your story is an example of why, even during hard times and difficulties, you must not lose hope, but believe in your dreams, because if you'll believe enough and work continuously towards them, they will become true! :luv17:

I wonder if her team has thought about her SP layout being 2A, 3Z // and 3F-3L in the bonus. That seems obvious to me since she's messed up the Z-L nearly all season and she needs the loop because Trusova has one. Every point counts.

Unfortunately in junior SP flip is the required solo jump so she can’t do that layout. Combo has to be on the lutz this season.

Wow, Anna saves her best skate since her injury for the Nationals. And her best skate in two years for Christmas :)

She was really enjoying the ice, especially after landing that gorgeous quad. Her face was just pure joy. She was lit like a Christmas tree angel. Great stuff
