Without a 3Axel you can do 5 solo triples and 2 more in combination making 9 triples in total possible if both combos are 3-3.what is the advantage of doing 2 3/3s? you can only do 7triples max so going for 2 3/3s would be more risky and nothing more?
Aside from the PCS thing, I find it somewhat controversial that Hughes beat Rochette while flouting the rules, deliberately performing two lutzes and two flips with nary a combination in sight. I know she would have gotten the required deduction, but with other rules in play, such as the bonus for the second ones being in the back half of the program, was it really enough of a deduction from discouraging a skater from doing it again? I don't know that I've ever seen this come up in such a significant way before.
