2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

100% sure she left panova. She and her mum unfollowed Panova on ig and vice versa. She didn't go to practice(snow leopards) today. She didn't participate in moscow elder age.(Last time Tarakanova left, she quitted a comp as well). She went to Eteri today and according to insiders, Eteri gave her the locker key herself.

Official source, or just your imagination or attempt to stir up trouble here?

I could certainly be proven wrong, but I don't see why Eteri would take Kanysheva. It's not that she isn't talented, but Eteri already has a dominating group of upcoming juniors and rising seniors. From my perspective there's nothing to gain in taking her.

Maybe she wants to have three girls in juniors next season too, and Usacheva is the weaker one right now.

I would have hoped that Sinitsina would switch to Eteri.
She is much more talented than Kanysheva.

I think Kanysheva is equally as talented. She has better technique, toe pick outside edge minimal pre rotation. She has jumped 3Lz+3Lo before too. Let’s hope if she does go to Eteri she doesn’t ruin her lutz technique...

So I saw the fan gala video from above and I almost considered not uploading mine, but the person had missed the cantilever -> 4T and I was like THAT MUST NOT HAPPEN so I uploaded it. Excuse my random comments here and there to my boyfriend :drama:

Recap and feelings coming soon :p :dance3:

Thank you for your recap-it was fun to read!

Kanysheva is lovely. I loved her short program this year, just beautiful. Best of luck to her.

Anna Shcherbakova's new ex is so original and so much fun. The choreography showcased her strength and flexibility. Hope she gets to skate to this piece more times in summer shows.

Oh!!! That moment at 2:02 when you think, "she can't possibly stretch ALL the way back in that lunge, she's a skater not a rhythmic gymnast..." and then SHE DOES. That was nice!

On the contrary, I think there is significant advantage in taking her. Kanysheva has fantastic skating skills, excellent jump technique, decent consistency, and has shown artistic potential. All she’s really needing is some star quality in terms of packaging, more conceptually interesting choreography, and some political power behind her. She already has all the basics to be very successful, and what she’s lacking in terms of packaging is exactly what Eteri can give her. As for Eteri’s upcoming juniors, Kamila is an absolute diamond but the others are not sure bets or particularly unique.

I've just see Sasha's exhibition for the first time.
She's won me over with this program!
Never likes any of her programs before but this one is SO her and so unique in it's choreo.
If you have to let her skate to sth as contemporary as this, it is her and she sells it

If you don't mind me asking, how do you have contact with insiders or where did you get this information from? (the information about her going to Eteri and Eteri giving her a locker)

But why have three girls when you can have four? There is room on the JGP for all of them next season along with Vasilieva, Tarakanova, and Sinitsyna. We will see what happens at Elders but no one else really stepped up at nationals.

Also, Maya Khromykh is not that good on anything other than the jumps and Daria Usacheva hasn’t skated clean in who knows how long. I can easily see Kanysheva being Eteri’s #2 junior behind Valieva.

One thing I am a little worried about Kanysheva is she is a little tall at 13, and let's hope she won't end up as tall as Maria Sotskova
Maria was very good at 13 but then experienced some rapid growth, injury and back to shape but it was not the same Maria before. Considering her height, I'd say her good techniques helped a lot in her career. I do think Kanysheva is better than Sinitsina. Sinitsina is a little too introvert.
