Just looked up in my local listings and it appears CBC will be broadcasting 2 hours per night of the Worlds beginning on Tuesday, March 20. Each night is primetime at 8 p.m. Three cheers for CBC.

I do not get the digital channel, but am thrilled the regular channel, unlike what so often happens with the American coverage, is going to carry a lot of coverage.

I do not have TSN so I've hardly gotten to see any skating this year. Love that CBC will broadcast so much of it. Thanks CBC!!!

   Good Ol' CBC!!! I knew I could count on them!!!! Thanks for this news.

From what I understand from some CBC people I talked to yesterday, the coverage on Country Canada will be the feed from the host broadcaster and will not have any commentary.

Barb & Paul will be doing commentary & interviews and there'll be phluff pieces only on the CBC 8pm-10pm show each evening.

Good for the Canadians!!

But I for one still wish that CTV/TSN were doing the Worlds coverage. I really do not think Martina & Underhill are all that knowledgeble or informative-and much less so than Tracy Wilson and Debbie Wilkes..

Does anyone know if Worlds will be shown on the Russian-TV channel?

Sort of harkens me back to going to an event. We always try to stay at a VCR friendly hotel/suite and record the TV converage. when we'd get back, we'd watch the coverage to pick up any other tidbits the broadcasters may have. This way, we'll have the best of both worlds.

My pvrs are going to be going nuts all week. This weekend I upgraded my primary archiving PVR's hard drive to a 250 gig drive. Both my expressvu boxes are PVR units. One will feed the archiving PVR (and handle other stuff that I normally watch during a typical week) and the other will be used for live viewing so we can fly around the coverage if we don't wake up in time. :)

By the way, if you factor in all the coverage including the 3-hour daily Country Canada recaps and the daily 2-hour CBC coverage, there will be about 70 hours of coverage courtesy of the Mothercorp.

Correction to my post above

The world field (which is what will be shown on country canada) will have commentary by PJ Kwong (my favourite rink announcer) I hope Country Canada includes her commentary in the broadcast.

Just bumping this thread in case someone out there who can get it still hasn't subscribed to Country Canada.

The coverage this morning was fabulous. The coverage of the actual event was completely uninterrupted.

PJ Kwong's commentary added a great deal to the coverage.

I know they're in the process of re-branding Country Canada to basically become a drama and long-form sports coverage station, but Kudos to CBC for doing this.

Your coverage sounds great. Just another reason we should all live in Canada - I gotta find a way to move!!!!

Ummm, SeaniBu, I think you missed something: Rosaleen later wrote:

And yes, the commentary was included and was very well done.

... and it's CBC by the way.

There I go jumping past posts again. I just read in order and responded as soon as I saw it. Well I guess I am not so jealous after all.
