23 Daisuke TAKAHASHI JPN 3 74.51
24 Jeffrey BUTTLE CAN 2 79.90

Now that is one interesting final group. Brian certainly got an excellent draw. Not sure what to think of Jeff ending the night though.

Wow, Buttle's got a tough spot, dead last to skate, and directly after the hometown favorite who is capable of bringing down the house with a decent-good skate. Joubert can put enormous pressure on, as can Lysacek if he skates like he did at his nationals.

pretty good. Brain has got a good draw, not last, but late enough to see what he needs to win. I think it's gonna be his championships at last! GO Brian:rock:

This may turn out to be a very bad order for Jeff. Le's just hope he doesn't crack under pressure. Here's wishing he has an amazing/lights out skate.

My initial thoughts on Jeff's order are opposite to what has been stated; from what Jeff has generally shown, he is very composed. Skate order doesn't seem to affect him. Now, touch wood...and hopefully he won't prove me wrong!

Skate order doesn't seem to affect Buttle.
He always crumbles under pressure.
Torino was his lucky day coz the others bombed more.
This event wont be the same.

WOW! All of them are all amazing and are all my favorites

I do hope Brian takes it!!! Lambiel will be rallying i believe, Daisuke would be amazing

Johnny and Evan hopefully would do well!

1. Brian Joubert
2. Jeffrey Buttle
3. Daisuke Takahashi
4. Evan Lysacek
5. Johnny Weir

Ah, but his placements might say otherwise! His two big "crumbles" seem to have been years ago now. He's a Worlds Silver Medalist, placing above Lysacek and the rest, and has won countless events.

Joubert is actually in a decent position; his personality kind of tells me no matter what the others do, he knows he can do better. Takahashi is actually nervous due to his hometown advantage; while Buttle and Weir are kind of in a comfort zone. They're both terribly popular in Japan.

Why would he feel pressure? He wins plenty sitting on the ice.

2005 was the worst Men's Championship since 1998.

Buttle's Silver there wouldn't have been a top 5 finish in 2004 or 2006. His Bronze at the Olympics was a gift as well.

He is more of a Short Program skater and I really don't see him overcoming Lysacek or Takahashi unless they give performances far below what they've been showing the past several months.

Bombing on ice is a tradition of the Canadians (except Mira?)
In Japan, it's called "Curse of Maples".
Buttle rarely skates clean both of his programs.
I expect he will follow that tradition as usual.

Has Buttle ever skated 2 clean programs as planned back to back.

I think you have your skaters confused! Isn't it Weir and Lyaceck that can't do back to back clean skates? those two doen't seem all too consistent. Have you looked at the results for the short...... hmmm

C'mon, no need to be nasty! Frankly, after his lack of a season, I am thrilled with what he has shown so far, and I am hoping for more of the same in the free.

Yes, I am Canadian, but that has nothing to do with why I like Jeff. There are many non-Canadian skaters I cheer for just as loudly and passionately.

But, since men's free will be starting soon, and I want to send good vibes, I will simply say - good luck to the "Barrie boys" and Eman - I know you'll all do us proud. Also, all the best to Stephane and Nobu.
