Alina Zagitova

With all the "very concerned" hubbub about her jumps degenerating/losing lutz edge etc. etc. you can see in direct comparison that her jumps and technique are the same as they've always been. In fact she is getting more height now to compensate for slower rotation speed.

I agree!

Robin Cousins on the BBC WC FS commentary said it doesn't take much growth to throw off a technique and it takes a while to get it straightened out, and if it takes a season then it takes a season.

She got exactly where she needed to be at exactly the right time! Hats off to Alina and her team for their hard work this season. So glad it paid off for all of them.

Sorry for quoting myself, but people, I've just realized that with this post I made it to 3000 comments. And it happened here, in Alina's thread.

:hb:

:clap::clap::clap:

Congratulations! Still remembering the days when we were all happy that we got to be "Medalists", the "Gold Medalists Alina team" And ofc in the meantime, Alina brought a new gold medal into our discussion :love:

Yes..it is just that time of the year for us. I love Ice Shows, I love Japan, and I love all the amazing content that we receive. :luv17:

I am sure Alina is having a great time here, and she deserves it, after so much hard work! And soon, the family trip in Okinawa Island

I hope Alina posts IG pictures and stories from Okinawa.
I need some history and culture!

Right now, my only knowledge of Okinawa is that it was Mr. Miyagi's birthplace,
and the setting for Karate Kid 2.

There are many war stories related to Okinawa, but that's probably not what you wanna hear.

Yes.
I don't really want to dwell on that history.

I was thinking more of the local culture and history.
For some reason, I have in my mind that Okinawans were almost considered "foreigners" to Japan at some point in history.
But I don't know if that is correct or not.

I also hope that Alina will spoil us with some goodies from there. From the photos, the beaches look fabulous in Okinawa [emoji7]

Also people here live very long lives, almost free of cancer and other diseases, and the woman are even on the first place in the world, with the longest lives. Call that a magical place [emoji7]
