2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Nugumanova has changed so many coaches by now.
Talalaikina was doing well under him last year, maybe something can work out for Gubanova and Nugumanova.
Very kind of Rukavitsin to take those girls after the season has already begun, not many top coaches would do that.
I'm afraid if something doesn't work out with him for those two, there would be nowhere to go from that point.

Yes!! I loooooved Talalaikina last year. Maybe she, Gubanova and Nugumanova can come out and slay like The Three Musketeerettes this year:yahoo:

Gubanova and Nugumanova will train under Rukaviсin

Hopefully this is a good move for both. Hopefully this will help save their careers and they can have good seasons. Nastya has so much more to give. I hope this coach and choreographer help her a lot. From what I've heard about them they should help her a lot. Now it's up to Nastya. She's back at home and she would love skating in St Petersburg since she is more comfortable there.

Well. If you understand this literally, I apologize.

Obviously you didn't mean it to be taken literally, that's the whole point of a comparison; to draw a parallel between two things/situations in order to represent/explain one of these better. However literal or not, my statement still stands; no matter how you look at it it's wrong to compare a human being to a thing that is produced to be consumed, then thrown away when an updated version comes along.

The blessings of YouTube ;-)

Will there be a next season of Ice Age, Kids? I believe both the ratings and critics were good, and this is one of the very few talent shows where the contestants actually are talents.

That would be great.
It is hoped that there will be

Ternov wrote about juniors SS in his blog if anybody likes his analysis.

Interesting analysis with the heat maps showing ice coverage, but I don’t think the results of the top 2 are surprising at all 🤣. Nastya Tarakanova and Kostornaia ahead of the pack as expected. I hope Kanysheva has programs that better showcase her SS next season. The chart is not an accurate representation of her abilities.

According to this source the Challengers for the Russian girls are (not sure if true or just rumour)
https://twitter.com/kovko2011Linux/status/1153028983111467009?s=20

Alena Kostornaia
Lombardia Trophy 2019
Minsk Arena Ice Star 2019

Anna Shcherbakova
Finlandia Trophy 2019

Alexandra Trusova
Nepela Memorial 2019
Japan Open 2019

Alina Zagitova
Lombardia Trophy 2019?
Japan Open 2019

Evgenia Medvedeva
Nebelhorn Trophy 2019
Shanghai Trophy 2019

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva also at Lombardia.

So Alina and Aliona meet at least 3 times before GPF? Then Lombardia will be a bloodbath with Tuktamysheva. Not sure if it's smart to assign them like that. Also, no second Russian for Shanghai Trophy? Anna S. and Sofia are eligible for it and they give out some nice prize money (but I don't know how invitational process happens, so maybe only Evgenia will be there).

Anyway, I want to see their sources. Japan Open, Evgenia in Shanghai and Liza at Lombardia are more or less confirmed, but other just seem like wishful placements or guesses.

EDIT: So apparently it's indeed guesses. I read authors other tweets and they mention that Alina could also go to Nebelhorn and that Anna may appear at Shanghai Trophy.

Yes, Tarakanova and Kostornaia visually stand out as ahead, and I agree Kanysheva was a surprise because she didn't stand out at all but probably should. Trusova and Scherbakov really need to work on this issue. But, most are very impressive.

If this is true, Alina and Aliona will be truly inseparable during the upcoming season :)

How so? Trusova got 4th place - above many others and with almost the same score as Valieva. What's wrong with her SS then? :rolleye:
