2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

I'm guessing Kamila will be at the JGP in Russia, which means she also will probably be at the first one (exactly how Shcherbakova's were spaced last year).

Me too! I got so bored in this off season that I made predictions for who would get which event [emoji23] I have no idea how the rest will work, but two Eteri girls will have to get a JGP together if they get 2 spots since there’s four of them. I guess Alysa will get lake placid so that means her and Kamila won’t compete against each other...until the final [emoji6] (or maybe another JGP)

Also this year 6 Russian Ladies can get 2 JGPs instead of 5 because there is a JGP in Russia where they get 3 Ladies spots :)

oo I'd be interested what those predictions are!

And I think Kamila will most likely go to the first and fourth (Russian) JGP, while Alysa gets the US one which is the second one, so they probably won't meet 'til the final. But there's plenty of other Russians to compete with her! I'm very curious to see what Russia's strategy will be for the US JGP, considering its so far and the biggest rival will be there. Will they send someone they think is really strong or will they put someone they want to "sacrifice" there? Valieva, Tarakanova, Kanysheva and Sinitsyna seem to be the front runners going in, so it'll be interesting to see which of those girls they "protect".

Yes, they should be :)

Any reason Tuktamysheva isn't on this?

Oh, hell...

Tutberidze's 3A are all prepared to be skinned and eaten alive already in Moscow. Well before their 1st Senior Internationals...

Changing coaches frequently is risky business because it creates a lack on continuity. Nastya T has had 5 coaches in 8 years while I think Nastya G is working on 4 coaches in 4 years or 3 in 3 years. I've lost count. :) Too much change and not enough continuity for both Nastyas. :( Hopefully they have found the right coaches now.
Wow. This just shows that this two girls are incredibly talented but obviously not easy to work with.

I did not understand it. What?

I mean the overall Moscow Ladies team includes ZAG & MED (multiple top level tournament medalists with golds).
Event without TUKT two of those are well enough to show the newbies their place. At the low levels of the RusFS food chain.

Moscow team does nothing, it is basically just funding - the top skaters of the city are selected based on their performances and get some $$$

As for skinning alive, it is debatable who will be eating others alive. You know, re-watch Russian Nationals, that may be somewhat enlightening.

True about talent and probably true about these two Nastyas not being easy to work with. The same can be said about their last coaches. Plushenko definitely is not easy to work with. Nor is Buyanova who in the last year has bombed with Maria Elena and Polina and failed with Nastya G. That is hard to believe. Buyanova has slipped so far with coaching women since Adelina won Olympic gold in 2014. Maybe the sport has outgrown her.

Ha. Former Junior - Honored Senior. I would not compare this with the food chain of animals. This is more like comparing different generations of iPhones.

Gubanova and Nugumanova will train under Rukaviсin

Nugumanova has changed so many coaches by now.
Talalaikina was doing well under him last year, maybe something can work out for Gubanova and Nugumanova.
Very kind of Rukavitsin to take those girls after the season has already begun, not many top coaches would do that.
I'm afraid if something doesn't work out with him for those two, there would be nowhere to go from that point.

There is something inherently wrong in comparing women and girls to consumer goods.

Nugumanova and Gubanova are probably on their last chances with their new coach. Same with Sakhanovich/Tarakanova. At some point you simply run out of chances and no decent coach will take you in no matter how talented you are. I hope they make the most out their last opportunities.
