2019-20 U.S. Ladies Figure Skating

Do you know what she got in PCS for 2 recent events? Is it over 60?

Alysa got PCS in the upper 20’s for the Short and upper 50’s for the Long at Broadmoor. However, at Glacier Falls, she received above 30 in the Short and around 60 in the Long. Summer competitions are not indicative of the PCS skaters will get as they differ from club to club.

Agree. No need to make conclusions about USFS backing someone, if the kid didn't even have proper junior international debut yet.
Scores at domestic competitions anyway tend to be higher than on international ones, and that's normal.
Nothing can change the fact that she is quite consistent on her triples, she's a natural jumper.

Interesting Notes:
- Novice lady Audrey Meredith earned a TES score of 66.35 (w/ bonus) in her Free and jumps included a 3Lz+3T (during the first round), 2A+3T, and 3Lz+2T+2Lo. Audrey’s Free totaled at 104.83 with PCS of 38.48.
- Kate Wang executed a clean 3Lz+3Lo, 3Lz+3T (in the Short), and 3F+Eu+3S. Wang and earned a TES of 62.28 and PCS of 45.51 during the Free for a total of 107.79.
- Jessica Lin executed a clean Free and earned a TES of 53.47 and PCS of 44.71 for a total of 98.18.

Lake Placid Junior Grand Prix:
- Alyssa LIU
- Jessica LIN
- Emilia MURDOCK

US Figure Skating would be dumb to not send Kate Wang, Sarah Jung, or Lindsay Thorngren to a Junior Grand Prix. The more experience they have, the more progress they’ll make.

Are JGP entries out yet?

Yes, the usfs shouldn't hold back just cause they don't have the highest PSC. If they go internationally, they will learn and they need to learn from being with the top not just locally. US needs to show that these ladies can beat the russians, Japanese, and Koreans technically!

Emilia murdock is one of the only skaters on isp who can't execute a clean triple triple. Even tho her components are acceptable, she she is technically not as strong compared to Sarah jung, Kate wang, or lindsay thorngren. These are the ladies who should be in the eyes of us figure skating

We have 15 spots for ladies. There is room for everyone to get at least 1.

Obviously not everyone will get one.

I like Millie’s skating, I don’t mind that she got a spot.

Although Emilia Murdock may not have a clean 3-3 YET (she is working on one), she has one of the highest international scores of all the juniors at 177. If Emilia can skate cleanly, I'm sure she will score above 175. We have 10 spots left after Choi, Harrell, Lin, Liu, and Murdock were named and Harrell and Liu will probably both get two, so that leaves us with 8 spots. Add in reigning junior champion Gabbriella Izzo and Pooja Kalyan and we have 4 spots left if both get two assignments, 6 if both get 1, and a range between those two numbers if there is a combination of 1 or 2 assignments.

Emilia Murdock was a nice surprise to me at the Broadmoor Open this year.

US FIGURE SKATING NEED TO GET THEIR PLAN BACK ON TRACK!!

Unnecessary freaking out will be consequenced with a sentence of having to watch U.S. junior ladies JGP programs from 2015-2017.

emilia murdock did not particpate in the broadmoor open. She did lake placid which she scored 138 and glacier falls where she scored 146

There's a bit more of the feel and choreography of Mariah's SP in Adam's latest YouTube video. I don't know, I'm having a hard time imagining the judges will get it and that her PCS will be as high as it was for last year's SP.

Ok I have to admit I was skeptical when I first heard she was doing britney but now that I've seen the choreography I am LIVING FOR THIS

That video was awesome; it was super interesting to see adam’s thought process and how Mariah practices . Adam should make this a series, and/or other choreographers should follow suit. THIS is how you make skating more accessible to the public and boost its popularity. Also, I laughed when hearing the program music of the other skaters; it was just so stereotypically “skating music,” I bet you could find at least one person at each rink in the US skating to one of those songs (not trying to be mean I’m just amused)

I cannot wait to see Mariah’s program come into fruition and blossom as the season progresses. Also, Alysa will be attending the Aurora Games and will be competing alongside Ashley Wagner and Mirai Nagasu. Best of luck to the team.

I'm still on the fence about Mariah's new short. I kind of think it might go the way of Kayne/O'Shea's That's It (I'm Crazy) SP. But I guess we'll see.

Other choreograhers have had the idea before Adam;) Rohene Ward had someone with a camera follow him while he was doing choreo a few years ago, (including for Alexa and Chris) but the series never really got started, I think. Then there was Jason’s hysterical IG clips with Rohene.

Of course, Adam has a much higher profile, so good for him if he can get it going. I always like seeing the process with different choreographers. :)
