That word is often used in sport specifically as chemical substances, it's a common 'slang' word for that in sport.
Yes, chemistry as a word can be used in other meanings, say in acting there's a chemistry between a male and female lead, here however it sure isn't about chemistry between a coach and a student.

I'm not sayin Anastasia should be judged or something, and no one is going to put her on trial, so there's no need to try to excuse her words 'beyond reasonable doubt'.

Nastia doesn't need any excuses to be honest, she needs to start her life and career anew with her new team, apologize if needed, maybe talk to Alina personally and leave it all to rest.

My point was about semantics and that you can't be 100% sure she was talking about doping given the context. Also, there can be chemistry between a coach and a student. I just wanted to point that out and in the end, we should dismiss that gazeta.ru muckracking altogether and not spend another 10 pages discussing meaningless dirt.

Even though the test skates are not officially scored and protocols are not released to the public, I believe they are still judged and the skaters receive a protocol as well as feedback on their programs. Not only to judge the jumps, but also important spin and step sequence levels. And of course PCS.

Test skates are not scored so they can do it just to show what they're capable of (maybe some can try Alyssa Liu's layout with 3A combo). For example last year Anna Shcherbakova did 4 combos because she popped one of them.

Test Skates might not be scored publicly, but you can bet the whole of FFKKR judges, program directors and specialists will apply all the ISU criteria to the routines performed to distinguish and rank them. Immediately after the day is done, there is a technical meeting where the programs are discussed, participating skaters are required to attend even.
Given the internal competition in Russian figure skating, Test Skates are indeed a very serious event.

Still, of course those officials could have inside information on what the skater is capable of that might not be shown to the public just yet.

We can expect a good showing by any account. I don't have to work coming monday and tuesday afternoon , so I will be glued to the screen once I can find a means to watch the live stream.

Well, it will be interesting if TAT finally has learned to show due respect to #TeamTutberidzeForProgress over her own CSKA affiliations.
TAT has some official capacity as FFKKR specialist IIRC, so I wonder what advice she'll give the Khrustalniy representatives, if any at all.

But since Perviy Kanal is the host broadcaster, TAT has to be included, perhaps only for the seniors since that's where there is considerable more drama to raise? 4 Khrustalniy seniors out of 7 national team members.

PS: If you don't appear at Test Skates, you are out of contention for any international ISU event? 4 groups of skaters are listed in the junior singles time table assuming the usual 6 skaters per group: 1 of boys and 3 of girls? Yes you can be at least 99% sure, specifically given the context of what she was talking about, have you seen the actual video? I'd highly advise you to look that live stream up.
The newspaper actually toned down her words a little bit by cutting stuff out, because her actual words and her tone when she was saying that is quite something.
She went on and on about how she doesn't understand how Alina all of a sudden got so much better, and how Nastia used to always easily beat her, and how Alina was always outside of top-10 before summer at every competition and now she's suddenly top-3 all the time, Nastia just has no idea how that's even possible, because Nastia is developing steadily and Alina has a very sudden improvement. And then she talks about it being due to "chemistry".

Come on, it's pretty clear what she was alluding to.

Anyways, I have no desire to continue discussing it. I just don't think we need to pretend that she didn't mean to say what she said.
It's up to her to turn her life around, she was given another chance with a good coaching team, and I wish her all the best to use her chances to their fullest.

She needs someone to help her navigate through the potholes of social media and interviews with people like Elena Rodina.

Right now I hope Nastyas mental state is okay and she can get off to a good start with her new coach and team. She does not need all this other negative publicity. Buyanova started all this negativity for Nastya announcing she had expelled Nastya from her club her very famous club. Then the Rodina interview which was bad and now unearthing Nastyas performance-enhancing comments about Alina from a year-and-a-half ago on a social media Q&A. Nastya is on a real bad streak off the ice here this needs to stop or her once brilliantly and promising career could be over.

Well, first step should be calling "that Zagitova" by her first name.

She's a member of the FFKR Coach Council (thankfully, not the Chairman, that's Chaikovskaya); plus, she's still listed as the chief coach of the Russian men's team (showing great results!)

I actually liked that music and her step sequence that was revealed, I wonder why they decided to change it. I hope she can use it in the future, it seemed like a good fit for emotional side of Nastia!

You need to stop putting all the blame on the big bad adults. It's one thing to say something regrettable in the heat of the moment, but she's showing a consistent pattern of this behavior now. Sure, she's young and hopefully is learning some serious lessons from all of this. But all the negative publicity is due to her own actions. Full stop. We don't see most other young Russian skaters badmouthing their peers even though they all have access to social media. They already know better.

Agreed. I liked it too even though the program didn‘t seem finished. But the music and the whole idea were something new and fresh and seemed to fit her really well. I liked the new program, too, if not more, so no harm was done. But maybe she could indeed return to it in the future. We don‘t have any news on her programs so far, have we? So, maybe that could be exactly what they‘re planning on doing.

So in an attempt to change the subject a little, and because test skates are almost here, I wanted to ask around if there was ever a program you fell in love with already at test skates(even it might have never made it to competition)

Mine are definitely Zhenyas leftovers, because it was beautiful and her OCS I fell in love with immdeiately as well.

And also Elenas 'Cinema paradiso' last season. I was/still am so sad that we will never see it in competition because I think it would've been a masterpiece

But she obviously needs someone to guide her whether they get paid or not. You pointed out Nastyas poor sport comments about her compatriots. We agree with your comments SF. She obviously needs someone in her life who can explain things to her so this doesn't happen again. It doesn't have to be an agent or public relation person but wherever she's skating and training and living should have an adult or two that can help the children with media and what their words mean. Nastya doubtfully knows the power of words especially when she's being negative about others. She may be saying things publicly or on a podcast or whatever about someone like she would talk to her friend or relative. That is not going to cut itwhen any comment she makes publicly can be brought up a year-and-a-half later to hurt her. And that's what happened here.
