What would you like to see him skate too next season. He usually had good music choices, athough i didn't always agree with his interpration of them. I would really like to see him skate to West Side Story. Quads? ususlly they were very consistant, but what level skating has he been doing on his shows this past year. I doubt that he as been practiing the quad or the triple axel much.

I'm so glad he's coming back!!

I'd love to see him skate to Debussy's Afternoon of a Faun, or perhaps something from Spartacus...

I had the opportunity to catch the Richmond COI show and Plushy was NOT at top form... he actually fell... something I haven't seen since the '02 short... But his overall skating was HOT... the footwork and in-betweens was much stronger than arms awailing and that cute Russian arrogance that he's made so famous (at least for me...) I believe that if he gets those jumps back it will be more of the same from Plush and I can't wait since he has a way of seperating the men from the boys...

In terms of what music... I'd like to see him skate to something really strong, modern & powerful... unfortunally, I can't think of anything right now outside of Metallica - but along those lines.

Well once again, it would be something by Marton. Edvin said it that he after a couple of performances he has, he will start writing the new music for Evgeni.
While a lot of people have critizice that he uses Marton over and over, I think it works because Marton makes him skates to music that none else has before. Unlike his Nijinski number that was a combination of three pieces of Marton's CD, Godfather is a piece done exclusively for him.

It does seem he is a great shape. He says he's been doing quads while touring (in his practices), and he was actually planning to do them on them but almost at the start of his tour (March 7th) he got injured but by the end of it in St Petersburg (April 7th) he was doing 3axels on all his three numbers.

I was wondering... does anyone know what quads he's been practicing? I've read in some article that Plushenko wants to construct a program entirely of quad jumps, all the way through quad lutz. Is that true?

He tried, but after he did

4T = 9.0
4S = 9.5
4Lo = 10.0
4F = 10.5
4Lz = 11.0
4A = 13.0
4T+4Lo = 19.0

he found himself Zayaked out and he fell while trying to figure out how to use his last jumping pass. ;) :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see him try and do 3 Quads in a LP but I wouldn't expect more than that.

A program of ALL Quads - :rofl: . Yeah right.

If the judges gave Plushenko the PCS he deserves, the awful GOE on spins he deserves, and the more reasonable GOE scores on jumps and footwork that he deserves; and the others skated cleanly, he would literally have to do all quads to win. :biggrin:

I don't care what music he skates to I am just glad he is coming back. I know a lot of posters on this board don't like Plushenkso and are quite critical of him. Not me I like Plushenko always have.

Are we allowed to post youtube links here? If not, it's the same program he did at the Gala of the Russian Nationals of this past season, he didn't compete there but he did performed at the exhibition. While the program does not have a name, it's been called "Prisoner" because originally Evgeni skated with a rope that looked like a chain.

He only has landed quad toes consistenly. Years ago, in Finland Trophy 2000 he tried the quad salchow and put his hands down. Then he did a Russian regional competiton called Russian Cup before the 04-05 season started where he landed a quad salchow (or at least that was reported). He tried once the quad lutz at CoR 2001-02, he did the whole rotations but fell at the end.

He says he has done them all in practice, but he can't put them in programs until they are consistent. My guess is that he will stick with the quad toe, and maybe try the quad salchow.

To be honest, I've find the men's figure skating more interesting , enjoyable and fair without him than with him.

If you really like him and want to see him go to the Shows he does.
