Alina Zagitova

That makes sense! And yay!!! What a busy girl she's gonna be! I love that she gets to enjoy her career like this, and that she has opportunities to make money (and probably will for the rest of her life). Her hard work has truly paid off. I hope she has so much fun, and isn't too pressured between Russian Nationals, the show, and possibly Europeans all in one month.

I read that an olympic champion in Russia has a rent for life 50000 rubles/month or year but I don’t know if it’s true or not.

Anyways, I’m glad to see that Alina will act in an ice show, she deserves to have fun and of course to earn money. She went through so many painful things but she delivered like a true champion and nobody dare to contest her world title unlike the olympics

After the hell of a pressure that she's gone through (and with flying colours in the end!) after being "the wrong girl that won the Olympics" and the whole last season, everything else would be just another Tuesday.

This article leads me to believe that Alina will never again be considered "the wrong girl who won the Olympics by accident" by the Russian population. At least not by the figure skating fandom section of that population!

It's just YouTube views and Likes and Comments, but maybe it counts for something :)

RN dates for ladies are Dec 27/28/29 (SP/FS/EX); the show opens on 27th. I believe Alina will take part in the shows after Russian Nationals - Dec 30/31 (full house guaranteed :)) and in Jan, during New Year Holidays (will help her keep in form between competitions too).

Tatyana Navka confirmed in her instagram that Alina will join the show only after the RNC is over.

Yes it’s true, 50000ru/month for life, its ~ 790$. And Alina couldn’t decline ice show offer anyway, owner of the ice show is married to a very powerful rich government man, so... rusfed manages all business agreements for their skaters, asking a coach first. It’s a good deal for Eteri/Alina not only money-wise. Political stuff is very important in Russia, all that public Eteri/Alina hate wouldn’t have happened if Eteri had powerful friends js

And now we wait for endless and useless debates over which show is 'better' which have already started in the Russian gossip media and boards.

Perhaps Alina would have loved to spend New Year at home in Izhevsk? But performing, perhaps even starring in a show was an offer too good to decline?

Both shows should be nice and exiting spectacles, but some 'fans' will probably refuse to attend the 'other' show, which is completely their loss.

Or we could absolutely refuse to participate in that nonsense discussion on principle! :) For once it's not a competition!

The Wizard of Oz and Sleeping Beauty are both lovely and everyone likes what they like. If people want to pit them against each other, then so be it, but I'm just hoping we get some video of Alina's performance!

I still can't figure out how to make GS display non-mobile version, so consider this to be my 'like' for your post! :)

NY time is going to be amazing in Moscow - Sleeping Beauty! Wizard of Oz! Cinderella (with Plush, Adelina and Yulia)! - so much beautiful skating!

I hope 1tv will be showing Sleeping Beauty, so we will get to see Alina perform in it. :)

1TV did show Tatyana's "Ruslan and Lyudmila" (that show was a huge success, spectators even demanded more shows! and after 1 month of rest, they added a few more). I think shows with Alina would be quite popular too, and would be shown by 1TV as well.

Thanks I needed that. I have always been bothered how Alina was treated after the Olympic games. it was quite upsetting for a long time but I think she shook everything off. Most people now realize that she was deserving of Olympic gold and is and we'll end up an all-time great figure skater.

Not to dig it all back up again, but I have been watching the Olympics for a long time. Summer and Winter. The reaction to Alina's Gold was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. It was just awkward. I actually thought I had to be imagining it because it just did not make sense. Then I thought that the people around her were 'protecting' her from 'too much attention' because of how stressful it turned out to be for Yulia. Then I thought maybe Alina was just an introvert who didn't want any attention!

Finally Japan came along and saved the day! Turned out Alina does like a reasonable amount of (respectful) attention! And apparently her family didn't want to lock her away from sight. Japan shined a beautiful spotlight on her, gave her the love she deserved, and finally Russia got with the program!

That's all water under the bridge now, and I am convinced Japan would steal her from Russia if they could! I am also convinced that Russia truly appreciates her. Especially after worlds! It felt like that was the moment that everything changed. A year long journey to fully own her Olympic victory!

Alina's journey was really unique and special; because of how long it took Russia to really acknowledge her as a true champion. The silver (gold) lining to this, is that she wasn't over exposed from the beginning. It's easy for people to get sick of you if you are shoved down their throats. Alina's popularity grew slowly and genuinely. I think she may have won more fans by being 'overlooked' than if she had been 'the chosen ones'. Her fans certainly couldn't be any more passionate about protecting her.

Whatever this season brings, I feel in my heart that Alina is in a good place. As a fan I won't ask for more. Just health. Everything else she can fix herself.

I am so glad that Alina can finally enjoy her skating without having astronomical amounts of pressure on her. I can not even imagine how stressful the olympics and this last worlds was for her. She has such a strong character and is truely remarkable. I also think that she has matured so much through these past two years. Our little ballarina is all grown up:cry:

If I lived in Russia, I would make sure to see both shows!
