2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

It's because she didn't just fall, she fell on the first jump of her combo and couldn't get the 3T in. So she lost about 4-5 points just for the missing jump and then lost even more for actually falling.

If I'm remembering correctly she was a lot more consistent last year, hardly ever falling, and now it seems to happen every competition, if not every skate. I wonder what's happening with her.

Growing tall and lanky, having to adapt to growth? And perhaps too demanding on herself? She just needs to hang on now, have faith in herself, trust her trainers ...

i think the thing that makes me so sad and angry when it comes to these skaters who are stuggling is the criticism they receive. i have seen so much nastiness and hate toward Masha on this forum recently, and it's so uncalled for. ALL of these girls are doing their best under their circumstances...not many stop to think about what they may be dealing with off the ice that affects them on the ice, and it's so unfair to them. we should be cheering on and encouraging them all, because that's the least they deserve.
I agree with your sentiment. Especially about cheering these amazing athletes on. But saying Masha did not deserve a GP event is fair.

Puberty I suppose.

I seriously don't understand these scores. This must be a joke. :confused2:

why did Zagitova got a deduction?. I thought she was gonna get 80+
one thing I admire about Zagitova is she is very gracious even when the scores showed up, so Alena still got lucky even with all the underscoring

Underscoring? I’d say their PCS should have been much closer and there were mad URs in this event including Alina. The 3Lz+3Lo was a clear mistake.

The SP is over and the protocols are out - I don't really have any words for what is happening other than "IdF is cursed".

Just looked through the protocol...they gave Alina an 'e' call on her Lutz, I don't think I've ever seen her get one before.

What kind of PCS even was that for Aliona? I mean, panels can be strict, but they were willingly giving almost 37 for Alina. Why not at least as much as she received at Finlandia. Not to mention that it was basically the same as Sasha's last week, which just doesn't seem okay, especially considering there were no disruptive mistakes from Aliona's side. Hope it's just the difference between competitions.

Ok and the calls... I think it's the first time I see Alina receive an e. Weird when you think that she has never received even a ! (unless there is something I don't remember).

Alina is never an e. It's a slight outside to nearly flat. The tech controller obviously has some gripe to these girls.
