I just turned on the stream to see Aliona skate to her first junior season‘s SP in an amazing new costume. And then she had a hard fall and a rough landing on her 2A and second 3F. Now I‘m worried.

Aliona looked gorgeous in that new dress and hairstyle! but noticeably upset when leaving the ice- unless there is something else going on, i hope she realizes this is just a show and doesn't mean anything.

Yes, I love the new dress and the hairstyle. She looks stunning! It’s cool to see skaters skate to their old programs with all their new skill. It nicely showed her increased presence and maturity compared to two years ago. But her jumps all looked pretty weird tbh. She hasn‘t had that kind of a leg wrap all season long. Hope she‘s fine.

Anna was great! I cannot express how much more I like the tights in the boots. It looks so neat and it makes her skating look more impressive. Love this program too.

i agree! they also didn't announce her for some reason, and had to improvise starting the program at the boards. i'm sure that threw her off.

It was interesting to see Sasha not in a role of a "fighter", but elegant young lady. She tried 3A, I truly wish her to deliver it in the competition.

I doubt it for Aliona because her program is two years old. It‘s her SP from two seasons ago. As for Sasha, I‘m a bit confused. I‘ve never seen this program from her. If anyone has, please enlighten me. It would be totally weird to debut a completely new SP at the Worlds and way too risky. I can‘t imagine Eteri doing that.

I can understand why they might want to make Sasha seem more “feminine“ but imo, she doesn‘t need that. Honestly, it seems pretty weird to me. She is a girl, just because she doesn‘t have the standard princess-y skating and lands quads doesn‘t mean she skates like a dude? I mean.. what??

That program just doesn‘t fit her. It‘s the effort to try and make Sasha something she isn‘t to earn PCS. Now, fact is, she isn‘t the most graceful skater and she‘s just not musical. You could see it in the final group number. Unfortunately, she was right in the spotlight and it was obvious how out of sync she was compared to everyone else... Trying to put her in what seems like a more ”traditionally female“ dress and give her some beautiful but dull music doesn‘t change anything, on the contrary, it takes away her power. Give her something she can entertain the audience with. Something sassy, with fun. She has power, she has a spark. She probably won‘t ever be a PCS skater like Anna or Aliona, who seem to naturally feel and respond to the music. But she doesn‘t need to be. Just play to her strengths and don‘t take away what makes her her.

Btw, where was Alina? I thought she‘d close the show but she didn‘t ? Is she still with Art on Ice?

I think this program works great for her. It showcases that she has grown and has become a lovely young lady with elegance, musicality, flexibility... I am so sick and tired of all the comments about Sasha being "quads only" that I am glad we can see her in different light (except for the cantilever, which isn't very ladylike ) Don't get me wrong, I love the tiny monster who came to "tear them all to pieces", as her brother said, the dragon queen with her Drakharys, but she is growing and her programs will inevitably change too.
