Slightly off topic, but major props to Danny G for always keeping that mask on. He only took it off for a photo, but seems to be pretty diligent with safety measures.

I love Alina's Esmeralda. The concept of this program really touched me.
I don't think it talks about the pure love. This program emphasizes Esmeralda's background, she was treated as an illegal immigrant all the time and suffered a lot due to her background. Her beauty led to the tragedy, her struggle made audience cry for her.
What I love for this program is, Danial chose the song 'Ave Maria Paпen' to show Esmeralda’s kindness and helplessness, she prayed for liberty and the right to love. In this program, she died because she cannot defeat the mighty authority. The last piece is 'Danse Mon Esmeralda'. The lyric 'Dance my Esmeralda, Sing my Esmeralda, Let me come with you, Die for you is not dying' is so touching.
What I don't love is, there are 5 songs in one program. Danial should give up the third piece, the song also belong to foreign immigrant theme, it's intense but a little bit terrifying.
The first part of the program is so great, creating a beautiful and brave image for Esmeralda. If they only use Ave Maria or combine 'Ave Maria' and 'Danse Mon Esmeralda' in second part, the whole program will be perfect. The choreography is relevant, we can interpret it easily. Meanwhile, Alina improves a lot, she understands the concept, she can feel the music. Her performance is dramatic and exquisite. LOVE！！！
Btw, I really hate this costume Even though it's only an exhibition program, the costume matters. If you watch Mao's exhibition programs, you will be impressed by her team's perfectionism, good music, wonderful choreography, well-designed costume and excellent skater. Alina is Olympic champion and World champion, she deserves the best.

I love your post. Your insight is beautiful. I agree with you about the music cuts. I understand that he wanted to tell the whole story, but that many changes of music would work better in a long program. But right now I am so in love with Esmerelda and seeing Alina skate again that I can't truly be bothered by it. My only concern is when will we see it again!I love Alina's Esmeralda. She's not competing; and at the moment can't counter the 3A's and quads that other skaters have with her technical arsenal; is not in her top form; etc, etc - and still manages to perform the best programme of the whole season by far, no one else's can even compare by the effect it has on the audience.

Thank you both so much for sharing these - I have missed her performing so much, that I got goose flesh and teared up watching these. Marvellous, wonderful Alina, a true joy to watch on the ice.

Yesterday at the "Figure Skating Lovers" festival @daniil_gleikhengauz and I showed our new programme to the music from the Notre-Dame de Paris musical 
. Can't even express the feelings I have after performing on ice 
... it's great that the festival took place at such a difficult time 
...glad it all worked out
