Alina Zagitova

Alexander Enbert about Alina.

Translation by egoshina :thank:

(not word for word translation, just the gist of it) - she always came earlier on the shooting day to talk to the participants to find out about the programmes, what happened during the week, to discuss some training moments. She always found warm supportive words for everyone after their skates and it was absolute pleasure to talk to her. She was a brilliant host!

This is amazing! This wonderful blogger has compiled some of the most important personal accomplishments, professional achievements and highlights that Alina experienced in 2020. It is a fantastic trip down memory lane with great videos and photos. Thank you so much, Valeria! :thank:

Seems like Sleeping Beauty has brought us full circle. :ghug: 2020 has been a rough ride, but sharing Alina moments on this thread with all of you was always a good time. May 2021 bring beautiful changes for all of us.

And this was the year when I turned 18😊. So, I am happy that in such hard times I was lucky to finish school, enter university, obtain my diving licence, continue my figure skating trainings 🏋🏼‍♀️, take part in a series of ice-shows ⛸ and finally work as a host at the most popular Russian TV-show 🎥. I want to say big thanks to my family, best coaches @teamtutberidze_official 👏, @s_70rus and all my fans 🙏🏼🤩🙌

Thank you Alina, we your fans are proud of you. :thank:

So very proud. There are no words.

And because it can't be said enough: thank you Free Skater. From my heart. This time last year we were all a little (or a lot) sad that Alina had decided to take a break from competitive skating. Maybe 'sad' isn't enough to describe those feelings. (It was a crazy mixture of sad, happy, concerned, relieved, worried, scared, confused - just everything all at once.) For myself it was all of that. Mostly I was happy for her that she was able to make this decision for herself and sad for myself because I was going to miss her so much. :(

Free Skater made everything more than bearable with videos of Alina's performances. We saw more of Alina than we would have if she had been competing. What could have been a really sad time for Zagistans (Zagistanians?) ended up being not quite so sad because we had something to look forward to and even celebrate.

Now here you are again bringing more happiness. :) May 2021 bring you all the happiness you have brought to so many.
