anyways... i am looking forward to see Carolane and Shane. It's been a long time..... Hope they do well... they were on a clear ascent a few years ago... but have been passed domestically... will that reflect on their international scores?

First of all, it wasn't directed at anyone aka you didn't say one of our names nor quote us and was a continuation of your point to me over and over, so how I was I not to know you weren't directing it at me? Also, I said in my post specifically, that i was not being rude in anyway. And FWIW, we say agree to disagree and end a conversation like that here on forums. Which I said many post ago in this thread, you chose to continue.
Other people were still replying, why should I not be able to have a conversation because you decide it’s over for me? That is rude, just because you said it wasn’t doesn’t mean it’s not. Other people are allowed to talk.

:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:I said agree to disagree and ended the convo with you but you continued with me as well. Can you please just drop it already?!

I said I forgot to quote and my reply wasn’t meant for you but you keep replying telling me to stop talking to other people. You are more than welcome to stop replying to me but if I want to have a discussion with other people, I should be able to. It’s you who can’t seem to drop it. Please just let me reply to other people if I want to without policing my comments. Thanks.

WTT Day 1 performance review:

Carolane & Shane: Styling has definitely improved. Their new coaches have slowed them down, presumably to try to stop the falls (if so, success!). Levels still bad, but we’re done with this pattern, hopefully next year will be better.

Alison: Best 3-3 attempt in a long time (that I can recall, anyway). Still Q, but progress.
Gabrielle: Looks more together, which is always a plus, but more and more the WTT collision looks like a permanent setback mentally.

Roman: Got away with a Q on the combination, that’s his best senior short program ever. Obviously in the first leg of the race for Nebelhorn he took a wide lead.
Nam: Ouch. It really doesn’t help that nationally he’s up against two of the best spinners in the current men’s field.

I just saw Gabby's SP score from WTT. It is difficult to see her finish that low. Has something changed in her coaching lately?

When was the last time you watched her skate? That’s a pretty typical score for her these days. She’s been battling mental health and injury issues for a few years now. Her Wikipedia page has a detailed summary if you want to learn more.

Good job Roman! He skated his SP here just as good as the virtual competition. His 4S is quite solid. 6th place is awesome! He is looking really good for Nebelhorn. If he skates his free skate as good as Nam, he will secure his position.

I don’t think this one competition will be the decider. Whoever goes needs to be in top top shape early in the season.
I think one of the summer comps (assuming they happen) will be required to make sure whoever they send is in good form. Perhaps Minto? That would be my preference as it’s held across the street from my house!

jo phan for nebelhorn :) but you know... everyone always talks about the same 3 guys.... i adore Nam but this morning, i was like damn it... Conrad, Jo and perhaps even Nic would have done better than that...

Reminds me of last Nationals when the media and everyone was making it out as a big battle between Keegan and Nam then Roman came from behind and won it all. This season they keep talking about how it's going to be two of them at the Olympics, they might be in for a surprise again...

In general, I prefer all three of the guys you mention to Nam.

Especially Nic, who I think is a very fine skater, but overshadowed. And, to be fair, some of that is his own doing.

I was so glad for Roman at Nationals. Mainly because I admire his ability.

Although, part of me wanted to see that ridiculous announcer... the one who kept pushing the "bros" storyline... look like an absolute fool, which he did. Anyone who followed the sport that season should have been aware that this was NOT a two-man race.

I hope someone tells Simon Reed to stop referring to Alison Schumacher as being 'from China, now representing Canada'. Presumably he read her place of birth off the ISU bio, wasn't aware that she grew up/learnt to skate in/has always represented Canada, and assumed a case like e.g. Alexei Krasnozhon. He doesn't make ignorant comments about Jean Luc Baker, Vanessa James or Lilah Fear (born in but mostly raised outside the UK, Canada and US respectively), hopefully just because they're better-known than Alison.

It brings back childhood memories of my parents (1st-gen immigrants) having to convince primary school admin that I didn't need ESL by pointing out the fact I spent lunch breaks reading LOTR...

They all do. H/B were at Worlds too and train in the same place. H/D just came out of quarantine today not that it's relevant to this discussion. And by that means, Keegan would have been in quarantine as well, meaning by your standards he wouldn't have gone anyway.
Keegan lives in the US

Anyone that flies and travels like that has to quarantine. Especially since the skating feds are enforcing it, IDC where one lives, and yes that includes Alaska. If he chose not to, then that's on him, but if it were me I would not be exposing my pregnant wife to that.
Lol what??? Other countries are sending people that went to worlds.

And your point is?!! I know Keegan lives in the freaking US. I also remember him skating for the US. And your other point is moot. I'm done with this stupid conversation. Please move on.
