I doubt that .. I wouldn't send kamilla.. but I would send anna, liza and sasha to fight for the other two spotsI thought I read somewhere they won't send the Olympic team to euros? Maybe that was just speculation
That and skipping Euros...Imo the best option at the Olympics:
Team event
SP - Anna
FP - Sasha
Kamila takes the gold medal in single category.
If everything goes well, everyone will receive a gold medal.![]()

Anna is a fighter for sure. But I noticed there was a patch of tape on one of her knees. Maybe she has some sort of injury?A note about Anya.
When I saw her receiving the score yesterday I saw her eyes and tought: "She lost already"
I never saw her like that, but then I tought: "She's f****** Anya: the strenght of a bear under a princess look. She would shake it away by tomorrow"
But tonight she was switched off, like she was conservatively going for silver.
This does not suit Anya at all.
You know what is said: "Take away the hope to win from a fighter and he will lose badly"
Does anybody know if she had some minor problem and if the layout she skated (just one quad) was the declared one or just adjusted on the fly after missing the 1st quad?
P.S. I never expected Anya to beat Kamila, but just to be the "never beated" fighter she usually is
It’s scoreboard pressure. After Kostornaia's decline Anna has lost her main rivaly and she also starting to decline. Kamila is monster and nobody dare to touch or even see her, so I understand the other Russian's psyhology. At this point, Anna should refresh herself and only concentrating on giving her best. If she pushes herself to get gold medal at the Olympics she will definetly make some mistakes and left the open the door non-Russian rivals. Dealing with Kamila's presence makes her psyhologically vulnerable. Avoiding this she should just focuses herself not Kamila. These are my opinions because I have never seen skater like Kamila to make others feel desparate. Kamila has already dominated the field and made others to believe that they have standing no chance against her.
That ties into what I said above. With Kamila, Anna isn’t in charge of her own destiny.A note about Anya.

Yes it's all about psychology sometimes. Anna's fighting spirit was her big weapon before. When the 3A came along everyone was talking about Kostornaia and Trusova. Anna didn't mind that, and she always knew that Trusova was planning a gazillion quads. Everyone thought that Trusova would win everything that first senior year. It’s scoreboard pressure.
You go in knowing that you need at least 260 to stay in the game. So you can’t just coast and hope for the best. You need to take risks and you need to get out of your comfort zone.

And that’s a new feeling for her, since Anna was the one doing it to others for the last few years. And people will start to appreciate Anna more now that they see how long die was at the top and what it took to dethrone her.
Roger Federer was unflappable too until Nadal and Djokovic came along.
And someone is now working hard and will overtake Kamila one day. Unless Kamila retires undefeated that is.
It’s the cycle of sports.

The big difference between Kamila and the others is that Anna could overcome them with her edge in mental strength. She has overcome being a quad short so many times it became routine. But, she can’t will herself to a win against Kamila because Kamila is a now a mental giant too.Yes it's all about psychology sometimes. Anna's fighting spirit was her big weapon before. So, in a way, Anna has always had these fantastic skaters around her. It's nothing new.
But she's older now, and maybe time is catching up with her. When that tiny bit of doubt enters your brain it can be devastating when it comes to figure skating...
It doesn't explain last year though. She was up against Kamila then too, and skated just after Kamila's perfect skate. If you have the best skate ever in the biggest event under the most pressure packed lights you ever saw, you prove it without argument.
So it becomes tough when you are at a tech disadvantage and your opponent doesn‘t fold.
Ted's final summary:
You are probably right!Question for our experts? What has the last time Kamila didn’t land an attempted quad?
I think she had a 100% rate this season. 12 for 12 all on positive GOE. Astonishing.
He was (still is I presumewas he actually in Saint Petersburg or in a studio in Canada?
