I don't know what she said, but congratulations I assume? I have not watched any of the competition so far, and probably won't for a while. I am very sad to be hearing that Sasha was upset. I hope she can realize that this is just one brief moment in her life, and that it does not diminish any of her accomplishments. Same as to Kamila. Very tired of discussing that situation, and just wishing her peace at this point. Happy for Anna of course, who managed to bring some light to these cursed games.

But basically Alina is saying that she can't express how much Kamila has been through this Olympics and that she is so strong for it. Evgenia congratulates Kamila on finishing her Olympics, says she's glad that hell is finally over for Kamila now and she can finally go home and rest, that she loves her, and she hopes she can live peacefully after everything.

I think like Evgenia she will eventually get over .
 
Given Kamila's issues and Sasha's disappointment, it seems like the world team will be Anna, Liza, and Maiia. It'll be a good opportunity for redemption for the latter two.
 
i. apologize in advance if this rant gets a bit long and i really have to hold myself back because if i write how i would like to write i would get a lot of warnings for language in here .
. so i watched the fs and i am shocked, sad, more than just angry . i am disgusted, . for the people in here or on one of the other threads, that for example said that the trouble aroudn kamila isnt going to faze her because she is that strong mentally , for those who always just said oh they are mentally so strong and thats just how Russian mentally is! take a good look or mabye look a thousand times at those girls /teenagers¡ take a good look at kamila breaking down and istead of getting support has to listen to eteri almost blaming her ehy she didnt fight through , why she gave up . oh i dont knwo mabye becaause this is a 15 year old girl who in the last week has been through so much , eithout anyone beeing really there for her, and it was devastating to see the emotionless look on her face. ehy was danny g smiling ehile he held a crying kamila? take a look at sasha , her crying, take a look at anna who looked like the saddest Olympic gold winner i have ever seen. . no they are not always strong mentally they are humans, they are children/teenagers .. for the the ones who decided to let kamila skate because they feared the damage it could do. letting Kamila skate was what damaged here more than anything . and looking at their faces at everything i just hope to everything that it wasnt the last time we have seen them in competitve ice. this is why the age needs to be raised. they are not supernaturlas they are humans and as young teenagers they have their breaking points and i hope to everything there is that non of them have reached that point right now. enough is enough . anna said she feels emotional empty! ahen she won the olympics. that is what is done to those girls! so open your eyes and stop praising the adults around them. for kamila i just hope that when she is home she gets psychological help because this event probably has traumatised her in ways that shoudl not have happened., i hope to everything that she has a suuport system to fall back on . and for the other two i hope the same because wacthing this today i never ever wish to see something like that again. so while i sadly dont have much hope i still hope that soemthing changes , that it isnt just forgotten, that the adults around kamila are going to be looked into

Maria hasn't' compete at the Senior Italian Nationals, wasn't released by then. Let her be at the Junior Nationals was a way to accommodate her, even if she wasn't ready for it, as the performances and results had show.

Sasha reminds me so much of Midori Ito, and Surya Bonaly. Some skaters just don't fit the perfect ice princess stereotype ; some female athletes are just too strong for the federation grandpas ; some legends are just too ahead of their time to get the praise they deserve. She will always have the most special place in my heart, she has since 2017, and I hope she never gives up on her dreams, and never stops being herself. A true warrior.

That said, from the moment she landed her 3lz+3t in the short, I knew Anna was going to win. I love her more as a person than as a skater, I really wish I enjoyed her skating more ; but when she landed that combo, I just couldn't help smiling, and I thought "what a clever, clever girl."

... I was a bit like this xD

She's just the smartest of the bunch. She knew what she needed to do to win, and as always, her strong will prevailed. Well done :)
 
Also Anna is probably Russia's most steely skater, even more than Medvedeva because Med never experience stiff competition until her last season with Alina.

Anna was always an underdog, never the heavy favorite but she is able to rise when it matters
I think she has decent chance of making another Olympics cycle barring injury.

BTW, Team Davydov has new quad girl, Maria/Masha Gordeeva ? was her name.
Samodelkina is no longer alone

the Davydov vs Plushenko vs Tutberidze ? Rivalry will be heating up next quad cycle.
 
it’s crazy how the expected Olympic gold winner for the past 3 cycles didn’t win. Kamila was set to be on Alina’s path of winning as a first year senior. She probably would have if you know what didn’t happen. I am interested however to see how this investigation plays out but also if the age limit is raised I wonder what Russian girls will stick around. I think the plan they put up favors Samodelkina Muraviyeva and Petrosian as it actually gives them an extra season at 3 without worrying about rising juniors instead of the usual 2

Age will be raised gradually, they will keep 15 this season, then 16 next season then finally 17 if the age limit is passed
Akatieva wont still benefit as she misses the birthday cutoff. Kamila will still be competitive against Samodelkina, Muravyeva

Can you explain this more? Sofia M. is my fave. Does this mean she gets to jump to Senior next season as 15 is the cut off and then the Juniors after that generation are stuck in Juniors for next 2 seasons.
