i have not seen DOM/SHA but here's my view on del/sch's FD:

interesting extra sign language before the program
i noticed that they intensified their hand gestures adding to the feel
nice rotational lift smooth and intense
their spin greatly improved much more focus - weird exit again (like the OD)

the circular footwork seem open like the one in the OD
slower - i prefer the old one better
different transition off the footwork - more effective

got low GOE due to isabelle's off-synch
arrrr

it looks like they simplified their 2nd foot work + isabelle's off-synch towards the end....

(if they didnt get down graded here....they could've won)

on their serpentine lift.....olivier hesitated on his hold...very distracting

again different transition from thir serpentine lift to the final lift - more dance action than just preparation for a lift

and they changed their final lift...i believe they were concerned about the skirt riding under the skate....
plus this new lift is amazing...

yeah....*sigh* great start...but got "nervous" towards the end....

i have to be happy about 2 things.


1. Isabel and Olivier got new costumes

2. Domnina and Shabalin won!!!

imho, i don't like the new costume...lost that olden era feel, it doesn't work with the story

I think it's a travesty that Domnina and Shabalin won. I am a fan of both teams but overall Delobel & Schoenfelder won this competition. They skated well in all parts and deserved to win. DomShas should not have won or even have been that close considering the way they made mistakes especially in the original dance. I think them winning the free dance is not out of question however winning the whole competiton is.

I feel for Delobel and Schoenfelder. They should have two titles at the moment. :disapp:

you have nail it with the right points..over the all competition DEL/SCH were the winners in my view as well

Dom/Shabs knocked socks off everyone and deservedly won. Del/Shoes were given the opportunity to win but that dance is not the title winning dance. Very deserving win!!!

didn't knock my socks out - i find their program a bit to monotonous
flashy arm movements to the crash cymbals...woohoo?

they might've won the crown in their signature overscored FD

but "overall" delobel and schoenfelder won

and please don't give any "sugery" stuff

i wonder whether some of maxim's stitches tore on their straight-line lift ....with oksana's whole body on his knees...on a low crouch position

meh like we can do anything with the "system"

kudos to the judges for a season's best on over-scoring! simply exquisite.

p.s. not a lot of the usuals are on. weird..at work maybe?

given the opportunity what a joke just in the CD they should have a lead of 3 points +in fact Dom/Shabs didn t skate a good CD and its place should have been 3rd maybe 4th

Yeah woulda coulda shoulda. I do not agree that the lead should be more substantial to have them in 4th or 3rd. There are no placements anymore, there are scores, they are there. And I do not see any problem with the technical score, PCS is different story, BUT it always is, no matter who skates.

Worn down. It's been high anxiety when by their OD mistake alone Domnina and Shabalin should have been much further behind going into the free dance. You can only rant for so long.
I can't help but think if they skated so good they actually deserved to win, they would have been scored even higher.

I don't much like D/S because (among other things) because of the leaden air of inevitability about them. "These are the new Russian power dancers!" whether the crowd ever warms to them or not. They remind me of the latest pre-fab synthetic boyband, they seem to be less judged than packaged.

I guess they do some things well enough (and others not) but they don't seem to have an original thought or approach to anything between them). The prospect of them winning a lot of events makes me just not want to watch any ice dance.

I don't know if it was the knee or just some serious undertraining, but the man looked absolutely ready to drop dead on the kiss&cry. Oksana and their coaches were literally jumping up and down with the result, and he just sat there, I guess trying to return to the world of the living...

Neverthless, he got his job done.

You can be very right here. I thought they skated really well (and I'm not really their fan), which definetively made the judges' work easier. The overscoring could be even higher.
I need watch the others again (specially the french's) before I go on with my ranting...
