While it may not be in a streaming mode, the ISU made a number of the top performances available out on their website last year. Perhaps they will follow suit this year.

If the host country is smart, they should do web live streaming... They may even earn some extra money. I recall both Britain & Austria live streamed JGP. Britain charged some fees.

The Austrian stream was great, but the British one was a very, very expensive ripoff. Any little burp from your ISP would cause you to lose the Brit feed, then you had to pay to get it back.

Anyway, I don't think Bulgaria is a high-tech country, so I doubt they will be supplying any live streaming.

The only hope is that Russian-based WebTV or ESPN360 will have live coverage, and right now I haven't heard about either one doing so.

maybe Japanese tv will show it. Here's hoping:agree:

I may be mistaken but I hear comcast is showing it, or at least parts of it?? Dont hold me to it, I could very well be wrong:laugh:

The 2008 World Junior Figure Skating Championship was originally listed for Saturday, March 22, 9:30 p.m. in a CN8 press release a few months ago, but it's not mentioned on their online schedule right now. :(

I'm sure someone will post here if and when any confirmed TV or Internet stream becomes known.

thanks for the info Sylvia:agree: I greatly appreciate it:biggrin: I just wish it was better news. Oh well, here's hoping someone will show it:agree:

I know this is actually not an answer to this topic, but it is related. If anyone ever can get a chance to go to Junior Worlds in person, I highly recommend it. I went last year in Oberstdorf and decided at the last minute this year to go to Sofia. As a fan of ladies and pairs, it was wonderful. Something like 56 ladies from 47 countries and, if you don't mind skipping some of the competitions in other disciplines, you can watch them in 5 to 10 practice sessions. You can really get familiar with all the competitors before they skate in competition. There are also not hordes of fans around so it is really a homey atmosphere.

I recall someone from FSU saying that NTV+ will carry some of it, including the last couple of flights of ladies LP live. But I can't find the link right now and so can't be sure. Also, does anyone know how to watch NTV+?

Yeah, it's on that Russain WebTV thingy, a 3 days-free trial.

I hope it will be on a Bulgarian channel as well.

NTV+ via WebTV will doubtless cover most of Worlds, and it might be worth the $22 US monthly subscription. I intend to re-up for it, as I enjoyed Euros and 4CC.

Sylvia,

I just looked at the IceNetwork schedule and it says that the Junior Worlds will be televised on CN8 on March 22nd at 9:30 PM-11:30 PM and March 29 at 7:30 PM-9:30 PM. I checked the CN8 site and it appears that the programming is something that could change since what currently appears to be somewhat inconsequential.

Whee, me too! I had to watch the Ladies LP from 4CC through DAUM, and it made me realize how good WebTV is. I'm waiting (impatiently so) a few days so I can renew it and watch Worlds and hopefully Junior Worlds.

I really enjoyed watching the Australian Open matches that ESPN didn't carry as well Fed Cup and some WTA/ATP tournaments on their tennis channel.

I'm having WebTV withdrawals. :(

it was possible during 4CC. I think they have a limit to the number of people who can watch through one channel, though.

Good news!
WebTV will be broadcasting Junior Worlds. Thanks to carebear and Braulio from FSU for the information.
The only info aside from that so far is that it will start at 20:30 Central European Time (6 hours ahead of US Eastern Time) on Feb 26th with the CD and Pairs SP.
