Mens Short

I'm just PRAYING Jeff can hold it together for the long. I know he's capable, but will he is the big question...

Who cares. Joubert stole his Gold Medal last year, I'm just fine with him finishing 6th this year. The top 5 are all so good and deserve to be on the podium.

This has been amazing, finishing with an heroic effort from Kevin, with his hip problem. To all the Men shown skating today, thank you!

Very fishy indeed! He and his coach have grounds for protesting that call. Why in the world wasn't it reprimanded at Skate Canada or Europeans? Shades of Michelle Kwan in the 2004 Worlds SP when no one ever made mention of her going overtime until the day of competition at Worlds! UGH!

Pray tell, where was he overscored? Besides the fall that program was great.

Kozuka into 8th with 70.91. The judging today is really good I think!

Besides the fall that program was one of the only two world champion SPs (the other one being Lambiel's).
Jumps are not everything but I'm sorry, a world champion's standard SP includes a quad combo.

For those of us without access to feeds, what were Joubert and Verner doing in the KnC that was so cute?

The camera showed Verner backstage when Joubert was in the Kiss N' Cry. Verner started to wink and kiss at the camera, which was seen by all in the big screen. Camera moved back to Joubert, and he playfully returned the winking and kissing, again shown over the big screen. They moved back to Verner who seemed to be embarrassed now laughing and then back to Joubert for his scores.

Brian is a flirt and Verner is so loveable you can't help but love him LOL.

And then Tomas bowed, it was perfect!

Tomas and Caro were so adorable!!

That was beyond cute. I hear that Verner and Joubert are quite good friends, they were joking with each other at the Medal ceremony at Europeans etc.

Some more tech-info:
Buttle: level 3 steps and big GOE for them apparently
Takahashi: -2,14 on the Axel, step sequences (just) level 3
Joubert: spins only level 2 (hurt him more than that lutz in the end), he got more than 14 points for that Quad-Triple-combo

I LOVED THIS COMPETITION!!! All of them were so great. I love Joubert's sp, it's the best program he has ever done and so well-suited for him. I can't wait for tomorrow. I hope Lambiel keeps it together.

Oh, and by the way
1 Jeffrey BUTTLE CAN 82.10 1
2 Johnny WEIR USA 80.79 2
3 Daisuke TAKAHASHI JPN 80.40 3

European conspiracy? Must be a very bad one.

And now we know that the scores at 4CC were massively inflated. Buttle rocked this program today, everything was perfect and he got less points than at 4CC. Whereelse Verner scored about the same at Europeans with about the same performance.

Some people do care when a skater regardless of whether he is your cup of tea or not has a mark wrongfully deducted.

Let's try to keep this thread with the happy and respectfull comments and vein that it started in shall we?
