The „Unholy“ number made some waves. The version Massimo and Michal filmed inbetween shows in Shin-Yokohama was even reposted by Universal Music Japan (Sam Smith’s label). Kaitlyn talked about it in her appearance on Anything GOEs vlog four weeks ago:

She seems to be really proud of the choreo she did for Ice Explosion (and rightly so). The women’s trio/duet in group no. 4 – “the long number” as Kaitlyn calls it – is also her work.
I love her fresh and edgy approach and can see her becoming a sought after choreographer in the next couple of years.
Right now she’s apparently working with Kana and Daisuke on a new exhibition number. I can’t wait to see what they create!

This article gives a brief summary of the "Rinkai Sports Center – 50th anniversary" event with mention of the Rinkai Sports Center's (Rinspo) history, which was on the verge of closure in 2012, but eventually saved with the help of fundraisers/charity events – many of which were organized by the skaters, who used to train there at the time (one of which was Daisuke):

This reminds me of Ovision Ice Arena Fukuoka (and Daisuke used it too for Ice Explosion 2023, which was great). It was supposed to close as well but the Japanese skating community (and many skaters) organized and supported it to find sponsors and re-open. It's nice to see the rinks surviving, but the costs to maintain them seems to get higher and higher...

Yes, the reason for holding Ice Explosion at the Ovision Ice Arena (formerly "Papio Ice Arena") was to promote the renovated rink.
I think Shun, Kao, Marin, Rinka, Rio Nakata, Rion Sumiyoshi, Ami Nakai, Hina Takeno and Maria Egawa were among those attending the official reopening on 1 April. I assume that many of them were involved in the activities you mentioned to preserve the facility?

A lot of rinks in Japan seem to face similar problems. I don’t have the link at hand, but I recall that Tatsuki once wrote an analysis about Japan’s increasing rink shortage and identifying rising energy costs as one of the main causes.

I suspected it when Ice Explosion Fukuoka was announced! A nice way to highlight it.
Yes, the skaters who attended the official reopening were active in promoting the efforts to preserve the facility. Rika Hongo who is one of the coaching staff there too, so she was active in her socials to spread any news and updates about it.
Tatsuki has been writing everywhere in the last few years (I think especially after he retired from show skating and around the closing of CITIZEN rink), both in sports print media and FS-specific print media about the rink crisis in Japan. He mentioned that while the skating stars are increasing in number in Japan, the rinks are closing and decreasing (especially rinks that are in smaller towns, where he himself had his start of skating). He's writing a lot of alternatives that can be considered, such as using the rinks not just for skating but also for holding events like planetarium-like activities, as well as making sure the rink facilities is built with F&B facilities or stores in one complex so that it ensures the rink has something to keep people visiting it.

Mai Mihara, Stephane Lambiel, Shae-Lynn Bourne, and Jun-hwan Cha have been added to the Friends on ice cast. While Shae-Lynn is of course a FoI veteran, this will mark the first time for Mai and Jun to appear on the show.

Yup, according to ensemble leader Hirokazu Kobayashi, a total of 16,500 tickets have been sold, meaning that all 3 shows were close to sold out. (I'm still torn, if I should start a new collective thread for Japanese ice shows to avoid cluttering this one with information unrelated to cast announcements.)
