Who will be the 2 US Ladies for next year's Worlds? | Golden Skate

Who will be the 2 US Ladies for next year's Worlds?

I am betting that it will be one of the 3 ladies on the Jr Worlds podium and Kimmie Meissner.

Gee, it is too early to say…and this must be a cruel question.
I feel so bad that there are only 2 slots for US Ladies.
So many talented jumping beans must cry for the moon.

LA Worlds: I’ll vote for Rachael and Kimmie as they are stable and matured skaters having edges on the jump.
Seeing the LA Worlds through rose-colored glasses, hopefully, Rachael will ride on the podium in LA and US Ladies can recover 3 spots. I’ll bet.

We can't pick the two for Worlds. Only the results of the Nationals can do that, and that's a maybe because only the winner of Nats is assured to go to Worlds.

It's anyone's guess and none of the three have a lock on gold, imo. and there is a wait to see how Kimmie has done with Callaghan.

I don't know what you're talking about. Of course only the results will determine that, but is it wrong of us to make some innocent predictions???

I'm sticking to my picks from another thread . . . I would want Rachael and Kimmie to skate their bests and deservedly make the 2 spots. Hopefully, Rachael can maintain her consistency and make some minor improvements in her spins and continue her maturity to blossoming into the champion skater that she has all the potential to be. Hopefully, Kimmie can have the time necessary to really flourish under Richard Callaghan's tutelage and continue her journey into striving to become an artist and regaining the consistency she had in her early career. She knows what she needs to do after this season - make the necessary improvements that are needed in her jump technique, particularly on the flip with correcting that edge entry and getting the consistency back on her Lutz.

Good luck to them and all the skaters! May this be an off-season filled with much needed rest, hard training and improvements, and regaining of confidence. :)

Kimmie and Mirai, hopefully, though i really like Rachel to be in the team... but since we only have 2 spots... *sigh*. I rather have skaters that are not alike.

Well, if you're training hard, you can't really rest, can you?

Anyway, this is the toughest one yet to predict. What makes it so tough is that the stakes will be higher than ever before. I really have this strange feeling we will see a so-called "splat-fest" in the ladies' event, because the pressure will be so intense. Who will fall the least, or be left standing? I have my hopes, but they do no good here. Just have to wait and find out.

Kimmie and Caroline or Mirai and Caroline or Ashley and Rachael
or Rachael and Kimmie and lets not forget Emily, the possibilities are endless. I agree with Joe I will wait until Nationals. JMO

I somehow doubt that Emily will make it to Worlds again. I read in a recent article that Emily skated at a benefit performance and was landing only 2F (she was already doing that in her GP competitions last year). Without the $ jumps, she is in no position to contend for a USFS podium spot.

I would be surprised even to see her compete in the GP this season.

uh, are you being serious? Most people I know do a hard day's work and still manage to get a full night's rest. How can the skaters possibly train at their best if they also don't take vacation time and rest to recoup from their schedule of tough training? You don't really think I was implying that they over-train themselves 24/7 without rest? :chorus::laugh::rofl:

I guess if they want to do 50 3loop/3loops a day like Tara, it's their prerogative though. I certainly wouldn't advise it. :(

I agree...it's an unfortunate end for her, but it's still an end. Still, just showing up to compete would be an accomplishment.

You think Kimmie and Rachael skate alike? I don't see that resemblance. How so do you think they're alike . . . just curious. :)

Not much point in going if you are not competitive - cost, time etc., why waste it? Plus, you go down on a low note.

Secondly, would she qualify through sectionals?

They rely on their jumps, not strong footwork & artisty is not a natural thing 4 both of them... as juniors both were known 4 bein jumpin beans. That's all, im not sayin they're so much alike u cant tell the difference xDDDD

Well, I closed my eyes, spun around and around, and pinned the tail on the nametags twice and came up with Rachael and Mirai. There are so many top ladies, it's anyone's call. Can't wait for next season, though!

I find Rachael to be very artistic. She skates with so much maturity and expresses so much joy in her programs. Her radiant smile can light up an arena! She has a softness of flow and carriage across the ice that belies her youth, IMO.

The sad thing is that even three spots would not have been enough with all the condoners that we have now and we are stuck with only 2. I am going with Caroline and Marai. I really hope that whoever goes places really well and gives the US three ladies for the olympics.
