Day 2 largely follows the same running order as yesterday, the difference being that we have the Senior Dancers starting their campaign at the end of the day. So, we start with all three Novice level Free Dance segments. And we are going stright from one competition to the next - the first resurfacing isn't until after Group 1 of the Advanced Novices.

First up, we have a group of 2 Basic Novice partnerships.

Livestream for Basic Novice Free Dance is now on air.

From the Basic Novice Dancers, we move to the Intermediate Novice Dancers. The Time Schedule says it is a group of 2 partnerships, but we know from yesterday that there will probably be 3 partnerships as there is a Polish partnership skating out-of-competition.

Livestream for Intermediate Novice Free Dance is now on air.

Right, according to my unreliable ears, the names of the Polish Dancers are Alisa KOVALENKO / Savary SOTSKO.

So, neither of them is a sibling of either of the members of the Advanced Novice partnership that they are so close to, Antonina BORYSEWICZ / Jakub JANICKI.

They were skating to "Tango De Roxanne" :palmf:

From the Intermediate Novice Dancers, we move to the Advanced Novice Dancers. 14 partnerships, arranged into a group of 4; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 5.

Seeing as it looks like the Formula 1 Free Practice 2 session from Las Vegas won't be happening, I'll continue watching the NRW Trophy until the MotoGP from Qatar comes on!

If this isn't "La La Land" starting us off, I'll eat my hat!

Phew! It is!

After that Norwegian girl caught me out yesterday, I probably shouldn't have said that! But, as well as the girl's canary yellow dress, I also had the guy's costume to go on today. ;)

I was going to comment about the Polish partnerships bringing us a greatest hits of film soundtracks:

#1 Laura BALCERSKA / Borys MAKOWSKI had "La La Land"
#2 Eva ALEKHANOVICH / Stanislaw BORYSEWICZ had "Rocky"
#3 Antonina BORYSEWICZ / Jakub JANICKI had "James Bond"

But during the third partnership, something strange happened. They started with "The Writing's On The Wall" by Sam Smith. But then it changed to a really weird song, which I had never heard before but was obvious that it was Sam Smith singing it too.

Although they really got into this second part, I don't understand it. Everything was geared towards the programme having a James Bond theme. Costumes and all. So, why switch to something that took us so far away from James Bond?

They went into the lead of FD and overall.

CaroLiza_fan

Ach! Either the interval was too short or I took too long in the bathroom, because I not only missed the Warm-Up, but missed most of the first half of Mimi and Joe's Free Dance!

So, all I can say for definite is that the second half, which was to "Fame", was great!!!

They go into the lead of the FD and overall.

You know, it's amazing how, if you are not paying attention to the introductions, you can tell that it is a French partnership that you are watching! :p

On the whole, I enjoyed the programme from Alexandra BALYAN / Mael QUINQUIS. But, there were a few things they did that were just so out there that they screamed "French Ice Dance!"

Now that the Novice Dancers have all finished, we turn to Singles skating. We stay with the Advanced Novices for a marathon girls FS. 40 of them, arranged into two groups of 8 girls; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 8 girls; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 8 girls.

I've actually finished watching the skating now, because the rescheduled Formula 1 Free Practice 2 session from Las Vegas will hopefully be starting shortly (it had been due to start at the top of the hour, but there has been a further delay). And I will be switching to the practices for the bikes in Qatar when the cars finish.

Livestream for Advanced Novice Ladies FS is now on air.

Ooh, I think Nicole is Davide Calderari's older sister. She used to be a single's skater for Germany (and he still represents Germany as an Ice Dancer), and both were born in Lugano, Switzerland. 🤗

After representing Germany as single skater Nicole represented Italy as Ice dancer and now switched to Switzerland. And yes, Davide is her brother and hhe ad to change from single skating to ice dance, too

and before representing Germany as a single skater she was representing Switzerland as a single skater.....Seems like she came home after travelling across the Alps

Does anyone know if there are any videos available of yesterday's event - I'm not having much luck watching on rewind? I'm hoping to catch up on the Senior Dance.

Thank you.

I suppose you could say we are starting Day 3 by completing a Short Dance double-bill, because after finishing yesterday with the Seniors, we are starting today with the Juniors. 11 partnerships, arranged into a group of 3; followed by a group of 4; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 4.

Thank you.

I see what you mean. I just opened the link for last night's stream, and got a message that translates as:

"We are currently not receiving a signal.
The stream starts automatically as soon as the content is available."

Out of curiosity, I tried the other streams as well. Here are the results for all four livestreams so far:

So, only one out of the four livestreams is available on demand. That is not a good hit rate, when all the livestreams were supposed to be archived.

If the aim for using this platform rather than YouTube was to make sure that all the streams would be available on demand, then it's not succeeding.
