The 51st Volvo Open Cup will take place Jan 18-21, 2024, in Riga, Latvia. The event will feature the Singles (Women and Men) in the Junior and Senior categories and will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating, and relevant ISU Communications.

Just a wee note to let you know that the Entries / Results page for the Interclub part of the event is now working.

And @ladyjane - there is a VERY large Dutch contingent going to Riga. By my counting, there is a grand total of 35 Dutch girls across the various levels in both parts of the event. :jaw:

There are actually two different channels streaming it - one for viewers within Latvia, and one for viewers outside Latvia.

Oh nice, I've grown to appreciate SolidSports. At least the streams won't get taken down due to copyright issues, and why shouldn't the organizers get a few Euros for their efforts? Looking forward to watching the men's competitions. 😺

Oh, I don't begrudge the organisers getting some extra income. But I do begrudge Solidsports taking half of the money. (And they do - it says so on the homepage of the site).

That's why I wouldn't have anything to do with these fundraising websites either. Because they take a cut of the money raised.

The Volvo Open Cup begins with a boys double-bill. 15 Juniors, followed by a group of 4 Advanced Novices. First up are the 15 Juniors, who are arranged into two groups of 5 boys; followed by a resurfacing; followed by a group of 5 boys.

Stream quality is not that good and they cut the first two groups from junior men. I missed Kyrylo. :(

We come back from the resurfacing and take a break from the boys now to start a Senior double-bill with the girls. 12 of them, arranged into two groups of 6 girls.

In case anybody is thinking about watching, the live stream isn't working. :( It cut out during the women and hasn't returned since.

The stream quality is comically bad, but Arlet just landed a 3A in the SP!!!! :yahoo: The jump looked a little tight from what I could make out among the pixels and constant stop-and-go. Let's see how the judges will score it.
... And the stream is dead again. I won't bother with it tomorrow anymore. Pity, I would have loved to see Kyrylo and Arlet's FS and everybody else of course.
 
Day 2 starts with the older Advanced Novice girls. 30 of them, arranged into two groups of 7 girls; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 8 girls.
